here we go, DK Sports has a very good segment here about Rudolf and the QB room.

Good listen and well worth the time.

I have said it in the past that I wouldn’t bring Aaa-Ron back.

I’d go with what we currently have & just see what MM thinks as to the competition to who starts.

What say you ………?

Mason is under contract. Its cheap as nfl qb contracts go. Rooney isn't letting him go.
If Rooney signs Roger's he has to dig deep into his pocket. A place he doesn't want his hand to go.

Our QB room is abhorrent with or without Rodger’s fossil ***. I say our QB stats will be some of the worst in the league this year and that’s with Chef Boyardee (aka the QB whisperer) leading the way.

And yet...

Minkah traded, STILL costing us $6.8m
Jonnu Smith cut, $3.8m
Cameron Johnston, who they just re-signed, still has $0.9m in dead cap cost from when we cut him.

But we won't cut Mason because his $1.6m pre June 1st dead cap ($3m post June 1st)?

This idea that Rooney is cheap is nonsense, TJ is the highest paid OLB, Cam at soon to be 37 just got a raise. Porter, Boz, and Benton are all prob getting extended...

"But the facilities", the Pitt panthers are part of the reason the facilities are the way they are, in fact any upgrades are a shared cost and must be agreed to buy both parties.

Which is why the lease can't end soon enough. They need separate facilities and stadiums.

You’re probably getting the first part. Regarding the second part, “I’ll take snowballs chance in hell for 2000.” It’s not happening anytime soon.

I'm not convinced that Rudolph, with decent WR's, OL & a running game, doesn't actually give the team similar output to Rodgers (at 43yo).

He can move the ball. He can find his target. He has some bad throws in him. If McCarthy & co can minimise the bad throws & we lean on the running game more (and we have the RB room to do so) I believe Mason can win games in the NFL.

And he doesn't impact Allar or Howard's chances of pushing for a starting role.

Probably most importantly, despite fans not liking him, the team seems to really like him. Players will play for Rudolph.

Now rumors that Tampa Bay wants him.....for a sixth or seventh round pick.

Nothing good comes from a sixth or seventh round pick, rarely. There have been seven pro bowlers selected in the 6th-7th round in the last 20 years.

And nothing good comes from a Mason Rudolph pick either. <sarcasm>

Please, trade him for whatever you can get, I say.

Well ****

I had Rubio plugged as Big snack ver 2.0
Jennings replacing prime Minkah as a CF and the kid from Navy as the next McCaffrey

There goes my threepeat predictions

Hopefully, Rodgers retires. Let Howard and Allar battle for QB1 and QB2. Rudolph is QB3 unless one of the "rookies" totally shiznits the bed. The team and the organization need to move on. This year and next year should be all about giving Howard and Allar every opportunity to show they can be the QB1 moving forward. You should give any rookie QB two to three years to settle in and show what they can do.

They didn't have much of a plan for when Ben retired, so they should just take their lumps now as they try to get a fresh new "rookie" or young QB to learn, grow, and hopefully be the QB1 for the next 10 to 15 years. If neither Howard nor Allar pans out, then keep drafting QB's until you get the right one, and maybe we get a top 10 pick along the way.

I read an article about that “spitting” of the facility.

Also that the Steelers do plan on building a new facility and have started the planning stage of it.

The lease is the timing of the project from how I understood it.

I think 2028 they move into the new facility or plan to.

Edit: PS, thanks for your well informed post(s) appreciate yaz insaniti SIR.
