Sounds like the colts tab for Wentz is 25 million in 2021.
15.4 mill salary and 10 mill roster bonus at start of new league year in March. Eagles eat 33 mill in dead cap this year which reportedly highest ever.
I was never a big Carson Wentz fan and thought he was ok but the media anointed him the next Big Ben. I never saw that comparison and think the Colts may have made a bad gamble here with Carson but on the other hand, if he can be turned around I think Reich is his best chance, Good luck to you Carson and the Colts!
WoW, that makes our 22million for little chest look like chump change.
Salute the nation
In terms of the Eagles, I'd assume it's highly likely the Eagles draft a quarterback now.
Why would you assume that? In spite of Wentz's huge contract, the Eagles drafted Hurts in the second round last year, then benched Wentz, and now have traded Wentz. Obviously they like what they've seen with Hurts. Not following your logic.

I think the Colts made a great move,..
I wouldn't of mind to see the Steelers do that with Wentz..

Yep, chump change is the perfect description of AB's cap hit.
Is AB money still on the books?
Yeah, the Eagles need to solidify depth at the position, but that's not going to happen in the first round.Well for one they deleted their depth - then you have to wonder on the pendulum swing how much did they like Hurts VS how much they didn't care for Wentz.
Plus their new QB hasn't played long so you have no idea how durable he is, as that will be tested in a full time gig. A long season if you will.
So you better solidify your depth or you could be in for a world of...
hurts.
The Eagles just ate $33 million in dead cap because they don't like Hurts that much. Right. Sure they did.We don't know if they like Hurts that much. They may ride with him moving forward, but this is a franchise that doesn't venture into the top 10 very often. If Wilson or Fields drops, they will be hard to pass up.
If a guy they like is there, absolutely. Lawrence won't be there, but I am 100% going Wilson over Hurts. Lance and Fields will depend on the team. The Eagles just ate $33 million in dead cap because they don't like Hurts that much. Right. Sure they did.
