Can we all finally agree that Tomlin needs to be canned?

Before Dick LeBeau went, there was noted dissention from minority ownership, because it was clear that the Rooney's felt little reason to change (similar to FG Bruce and Haley). Now we have the 4th of these similar situations, with a whole lot of clearly poor coaching decisions. In the next few days, if someone with balls steps up ( hello John Stallworth?), then maybe there will be some discussion, and matbe some action.

Until the rest of ownership note the common denominator in the Steelers coaching issues of the past decade, nothing will move the Rooney's to start to listen to the fanbase.

Bad special teams calls, bad clock mgmt, bad challenges, bad late game strategic changes, etc all point to the head coach.

The Steelers SB this year was beating a fading Marcia. And Darth Hoodie with little talent.

If Bell was on the field we would never be 31'st in the league rushing.

DUDE, Bell no longer plays for the PITTSBURGH STEELERS and the STEELERS have moved to a more passing team, similar to what the "new" NFL has morphed into. Bell is yesterday's news and even if he does make it back to football I highly doubt he will be as effective as you proclaim. Film has a way of catching up with you and it's a copy-cat league............where are all the RBs using his delayed style????

You have to get passed Bell. He is the tool that dictated his fail.

You can thank the FO for their failings in regards to him as far as bringing in a replacement and applying the wrong tag.

If the Steelers don't try to run the ball with a FB and then with Ridley they win that game. Let Ben be Ben and you can win. Just let him have the offense.

Not so much film, but there is something lost in the year off. Kind of if you don't use it you lose it scenario.

Boycott the last game, show them an empty stadium with FIRE TOMLIN protests outside.

Empty seats will get the Rooney's attention, DO IT!

Don't! accept this clown shitshow one more minute

BOYCOTT!

Wouldn't do anything. Money is already flowing in from the purchased tickets. And then you have the other monies they get.

Fans displeasure means nothing to their wallet.

You can as well. Just throw in your towel while you’re at it because apparently the only people that will be left are those that agree with each other. But I’m reminded of a quote If everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn't thinking.

Seeing that you are in here are you falling under number one or two?

The reality of Mike Tomlin is that he simply doesn't have the chops to be an assistant / coordinator type coach. Now bear me out here. Can he command the men, yes. Can he lead them, yes. Is he good in crisis, yes. Is he tough, yes. Is he respected, yes. But the problem is that playing at William and Mary and being a DB/ WR coach and one ******* year as a DC simply just does not give him the football chops to be the X/O technique guy. It just doesn't. Which is why these guys on defense never get any ****** better. They are either really good out of the gates or they are a mediocre to failed player. If he would just have eaten his pride and said, I have all these other qualities, but we need a stone cold football guy to run this defense and let him do his thing, it would be totally different. Instead after Lebeau he got a puppet and the two of them work together. And it sucks balls.

One of the MOST frustrating things is Mr. Tomlin's ability to coach the BEST game(s) ever, then drop off the edge of coaching. Raider's game example of drop off or even the Charger's game. Then you have the CHEATRIOTS game, two completely different coaching abilities yet the same coach. How can one be so HIGH and yet drop so low????? There is proven history of this and thus I doubt anything will change if retained to coach. There is the O'l add ledge "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink" and TOMLIN seems to be to stubborn to change. Is he trying like hell to win, yes, Is he passionate about his team, YES. Can he do what is called for in the heat of battle / situation / coaching change / personael (both on & off field / I say he is what he is and if that level is OK then keep him BUT myself needs a higher level.

72 here also. I've been ready for the next coach for years

I was like 5/6 which would have been somewhere around 73/74.

I was just listening to talk radio, a caller called in talking about Tomlin and his game management and strategy...the host then stated that in his opinion Tomlin is a good coach because even though he is not a good X and O's coach, he does a good job of delegating.

Just what I want as a head coach...doesn't know **** about football, but he can delegate to those that might be able to. UN-*******-REAL

I wonder if you're listening to Joe and Cook the Fan 93.7? That ******* Cook, he and Bouchette are the biggest Tomlin apologists on this earth. Well, look at his win loss record, and who would you get to replace him. You not going to convince me that with a coaching search there wouldn't be good, young, bright and energetic candidates out there better than this guy. Someone on this board pro or con Tomlin please name one outstanding coaching quality he posses.

But not untrue, and I would be fine with that if he brought in the people to do the X/O and technique teaching. But he doesn't. At least not on defense.

The way we lost last year getting pummeled by Jacksonville and any good running teams in general and the only changes made were to fire offensive coordinator sign a journeyman inside backer, us being this close to elimination just isn’t a big surprise. Defense wins championships hell we wrote that book right here in WPA. Last nite as I pondered the plite of my Steelers I watched a gritty Seattle team beat the Chiefs, a team that imbrassed us, where the qb said I quote “ it was like defense wasn’t there”. We have the talent but until the powers that be get there heads out of their collective ***** and start thinking about the defense and how to stop “rpo” offenses this is going to be the result “ systemic failure” ie missing the playoffs with a veteran talented team.

Tomlin came to the Steelers with HOPE AND POTENTIAL, since he really didn’t have any EXPERIENCE. He was hired as HC, just like you would pick a player with your first round draft choice. Owners have to be willing to accept the fact that their pick did not pan out as expected, just like sometimes you have to move on from draft picks.

The Steelers ownership are unwilling to accept that they made a mistake, by hiring an inexperienced coach, who has proven that he just does not have the ability to rise to the top. I truly believe he plateaued a number of years ago. Now he may very well be a decent HC, but I do not believe he is any better than a middle to upper middle level coach. If he was coaching at one of the perennially ****** teams, he may very Well be an improvement for them. The problem in Pittsburgh is that he took over a team with standing and continually returned diminishing results. I truly believe he may have been a much better coach if he would have had a longer training period, where he could have developed the experience needed at the top level.

Exactly. There has never been a more appropriate situation to trade a head coach to a lesser team for a first round pick(s) or something. All we ever hear is how Tomlin would be gobbled up in a second by other teams. Well then maybe they should put their money (draft pick) where their mouth is. Get a high end pick, another team improves, and we can hire the right coach for our team. Win win for everybody

Listening to him right now....Expects callers to name who they would replace Tomlin with? HEY COOK THAT ISNT OUR JOB.

So we should put up with mediocrity because there is a chance someone might be worse? YEARS of .500 or better seasons where they underperform, and when they do make the playoffs getting trucked?

I would call in but I would lose it and get canned. His voice drives me crazy.
