Can Bell still be traded?

Coach, of course he can be traded once he signs the tender. You know this after numerous folks on here have told you this. He is not currently under contract until he signs then and only then can they move him if they desire to.
I personally think he won’t report next week hoping that he forces the team to rescind the tag freeing him up to sign with whomever.

Coach that is how many times people have told you?

This mofucker stuck on groundhog day,

coach: can Bell still be traded?

a month later: can Bell still be traded?

a few days later: can Bell still be traded?

**** it yinz just tell him something different every time he asks. That'll show'em.

I seriously doubt they rescind the tag. That said, I wonder if he sits out games, does the team "recoup" the unpaid money under this years cap? That is, if he sat out 3 games, that is like 2.7M. Is that money then available under the cap?

He’s not a Steeler until he signs. Right now, he’s just out there without any contract.
If the team already frustrated, comes to where they’ve had enough, then it’s pulled. He’s just one guy and last I checked we’ve won nothing with him.

There are a lot of fans like me, and who are you to say his teammates, coaches or owners are any different from the fan sample? Bell even threw Colbert under the bus.

Bell in the playoffs? Stuff twice on 3rd and 4th and short last year.

Our defense, not Bell is who we need to play well in the playoffs. Better coaching would help too.

If you want to rent a one and done person for a year and get little in return when you lose him, okay sign Bell for a year.

Take a look at the past winning super bowl back fields. Which team needed a star back to win a super bowl.

Our window to win a super bowl isn't one year open. Its a few years and Ben says he wants to play a few more years, not just 2018. I'll take a high first round pick who will be here for a 4-5 years while Ben is playing over Bell for one. Also with 14.5 million in cap space, we can buy pretty much any non-franchised or tagged player.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah....all of this commentary as to what we can do with the tag dollars freed up, his disposition during this year, SB window with Ben....is just attention seeking on your part.

Any team will to trade for Bell, AFTER he signs the tag. They cannot negotiate a long term contract until after the league year. And that’s only If they are able to get him to sign long term . He can sign with any team that could offer more than the team who traded for them. So they could risk 1-2 high picks and lose him with nothing to show. No GM would risk it. Well, you would if you were one.

I'd have no objection to trading him and getting a #1 pick but I don't see other teams lining up at the door to make him the highest paid running back. He has shown his cards to everyone and he'll likely slide into obscurity within the next couple years if not sooner. Its not like he's a bruiser back that can keep running down hill for a few more years. Youth and agility was partially responsible for those cut backs that stymied defenders. Heck his stats are already starting to go down.

So, when can he be traded?????

I will miss LevBell’s contributions on offense, no doubt! But imo the team was more than fair and I’m disappointed that he couldn’t understand that.
I get it, it’s a business and you make it while you can but he would have been the top paid RB right up there with Gurley.
He’s one player though and the team will
have to do their due diligence in the draft next year to try and replace him but I have confidence that they can.

A-N-D we NEVER got there with BELL last season or any season he has been here.......................... I'm sure you noticed. I don't buy the notion that we can't win a SB without BELL.

and I'm sure you saw the offense score 40 points and the D got lit up. You would rather go into the season without Bell rather with?

I think they’d recoup the cap savings next year and every week he sits out costs him $860k so I doubt he doesn’t report last minute Tuesday. Of course if he does hold out week one and Conner blows up against the Clowns all it does is weaken his position and value for free agency next year.

Well it appears as this year we go with out him into this season. If he does show up we will have a "RAPin" RB that's NOT in game shape and with an attitude of no hurt no hurt and unfamiliar with the new OC's offense, so what do you think>??? A BELL primed and ready then yes but the current state Bell, well lets wait and see what he does and how "game" shape he is in along with how fast he acquires the O and NOT a dumbed down O just for him as our team is to explosive for dumbed down ****.

Bell getting stuffed on third and fourth and short wasn't Bell, it was the HORRIBLE play calling by Haley. A ******* SWEEP against a team that values SPEED at the LB position. You're not going to beat them to the edge. Had we run it right at them, he gets the first. We won't get anything more from him this year, than we would get for losing him next year, other than a backfield with VERY little experience and no matter how you slice it, no where near the production.

Also, where did he throw Colbert under the bus? He didn't, and Colbert didn't throw Bell under the bus. I'll take the quotes of the players that understand the business side of the NFL. Players like Brown who told Bell to go get what he was worth, who just congratulated Odell for his contract even tho it's more than his own. There hasn't been one single negative word about Bell the entire time he has been here. He has been praised for his work ethic, his knowledge of the offense, and his abilities on the field. You don't like his rap music, cool, doesn't make him any less dangerous on the field. Our offense was in a rut last season, what did they do to get out of it? They featured Bell HEAVILY, and we went on a run.

We haven't won a Superbowl with Brown either, might as well get rid of him too...

I'd take Ajai/Blount combo over all of our current back-ups combined. Dion Lewis and James White, too. If you are trading him before the season starts, the 2018 season becomes a wash because you have just lost a value piece to your offense. If they bring back someone like Mack, I'd feel a little better, the offense is still weaker. You do not find that production overnight or easily.

People act like Ajai is just some regular RB. Dude is good.

This just in

Bell can't be traded

coach news at 11.

Who? I already got rid of my Bell jersey. **** him

Bell can be traded the second he signs his franchise tag

Here is the thing with Bell and a trade.

WHEN HE SIGNS, the Steelers can trade him to anyone they want ..............for whatever they want. The 2 1st rounders only come into play if another team offers him a contract FIRST, THEN the Steelers get to choose. They can INITIATE any trade AFTER he is signed for any or no compensation. Personally, I would say **** it and rescind the tag and move the money saved into next year. But that is just me, I have no loyalty to Bell, whatsoever.

If we are talking a Bell for Mack trade after Bell signs tag and Mack reports, I'm all in favor.
Mack makes us more capable of winning #7 than Bell does.
Both are essentially one year deals anyways and obviously Mack is the cheaper player this year.
Even if Mack only plays this year for us and walks next year, that's no different than Bell being here.
But I think Chuckie and ownership with the Raiders aren't looking for a RB, even though they have 87 year old Beast Mode and Muscle Hamster.
But, the ghost of Wacky Al still haunts the team, so you never know.

A man can always dream.

Plus we still get the 3rd round comp if that trade happens and Mack walks.
