The point is you can make a mutually beneficial trade regardless of play or off-the-field behavior. There’s a lot of reasons for a trade: good player on a bad team, end of contract, new coach, new scheme, end of career ring chase, mutually beneficial decisions, etc. Go into the tampering section, I had something that I think would’ve worked but enabling this ridiculousness is absurd. It doesn’t seem like a great multi-year plan when compared. Yes, between McCarthy and free agency, they may have bought themselves a winning record and a playoff win or two but competing with the best in the AFC seems unlikely.
