I wonder of the yinzers will feel the same after we sneak in to the playoffs Sunday..

I might have free time today. Set high exceptions if I call in, as I will give shout out to Steeler nation!

Do it! He hasn't had a really impressive call yet.

BTW: Kovacevic isn't saying Tomlin should or shouldn't be fired. He just wants to hear a well-thought-out argument for doing it.

If he doesn't make SN proud. I have no affiliation with Coach whatsoever.
If they ask, I'll reply " Coach? We have a poster by the name of Coach?!"

****! I'm at work until 6:30...

one of you, I mean "yinz", call 'em!! speak the truth!

Dejan nailed it. Time management and replay professionals on the staff to guide Tomlin.

The team doesn't have either and MT goes with his gut, or looks at the jumbotron.

Those are his two major complaints with Tomlin.

He made an interesting point re replays/challenges: It isn't just that Tomlin challenges when it appears he has little-to-no-chance of winning. But he DOESN'T challenge when he should.

I agree completely with that. Dejan went on to say that Tomlin goes strictly by what he sees on the video screen in the stadium. And that's it. The Steelers apparently have no one monitoring the TV coverage to offer a hand in this area. (Even the Raiders - the Raiders - have a guy upstairs to help Gruden, former NFL ref Gerry Austin.)

He (Dejan) said it's likely that the board operators in New Orleans were told this beforehand. So they knew not to show any replay that could benefit the Steelers.

Apparently he needs an outsider LB coach to help with the defense as well. While I applauded the decision to finally try something different, that's pretty sad.

Very interesting, and unfortunately, disturbing.

Simply put, if you are not satisfied with kissing your sister, you want Mike Tomlin fired.

This is good radio, BTW.

Dejan is very talented, very bright. He's basically a "print guy." But he's good on the air: opinionated, but without being rude to the callers

Someone point out Tomlin’s taking over the defense and consistently covering WRs other slow Linebackers. Why is he even controlling the defense when he has a coordinator?
Why he left Ben out of the game in Oakland four series because he didn’t want to disrupt the flow.

And how we go from 7-2-1 record 2-1/2 games in front to missing the playoffs.

A few minutes ago a caller said it was suggested to Tomlin (before this season) that he have extra eyes to help with replays. But he resisted.

Does anyone know if that's really true? I messaged Dejan to ask that. If so, you call in Tomlin and tell him that the time has come to add someone to the staff to work in that capacity.

If the coach resists, then there's no choice but to let him go.

To me it goes so much further than this. Of course help with challenges and clock management are both crucial and would think any quality head coach these would be crucial to him being successful. I mean clock management to an NFL head coach should be like telling an accountant to balance the company’s balance sheet. Screw this putting a bandaid on the problem, get rid of him. Geez! They hire his coordinators, fire them, now it’s hire someone to control the clock management and challenges. What’s next?
