This is even more of a joke than replacing all passenger cars with EVs. The earth's crust doesn't have enough lithium for all the trucks that go through Californian ports.

Lawmakers live in a delusion. I can pass a law requiring all goods to be moved via teleportation by 2028, that won't summon teleportation technology into being. The physical properties of the universe and the limits of technology do not obey words you print on paper

You could not pay me enough. **** that place. There's absolutely no way that state will survive if they keep the government they have. Zero chance. I should say not survive without a serious revolt .

The article talks about hydrogren as a replacement to both lithium and diesel. However most hydrogen is currently produced by fossil fuels. Hydrogen can be farmed cleanly, but that technology isnt refined or mainstreamed enough. I dont see any realistic way this diesel ban can be implemented / enforced in 13 years.
 
This is a non starter, and means nothing, except the optics look good. This is nothing more than an appeasement of lunatics for their upcoming votes. It wasn’t going to happen next year, like they promised the last time for the votes, and it will not happen in 2036. They will again kick it down the road.

If anyone is looking for a good stock, invest in hydrogen now. There will be billions of taxpayer monies given out, and stocks will go through the roof, until they go bankrupt. Just be sure to not get greedy, I made almost 24% on a number of them over the last couple of years.

Simple. Laws like this, and so many others, simply kill economies. They are deeply unrealistic, and cannot work. Stack a bunch of these laws together and you have legislated economic devastation in to place. When this devastation starts to devastate, people adjust, and sometimes adjust significantly.

I'm a car guy and one thing I know for sure is that Hispanics like their lowriders and lifted trucks and blacks, especially black women, like their big SUV's.
If Trump, or any GOP candidate, was smart he's turn up at Lowrider car shows in CA and across the south, "Look at all these cars, beautiful cars. All the hard work you guys put into them. You know the Democrats want to take them away from you, right? Make it impossible for you do drive them."
Then go to Pebble Beach and Barrett-Jackson and do the same thing to the rich white folks.

God bless you, Djfan, but we stood by as - and indeed millions actively participated in - the government ran an overt effort to impoverish us and rob our kids of crucial social interaction during their formative years. We shut down small businesses, ordered that Americans frequent large chain stores that coincidentally donate money to pols, shut down gyms and parks and schools, kept open liquor stores, spent trillions of dollars we don't have, forced millions to take a vaccine they did not need, lied about the vaccines, lied about the risks to kids, lied about everything.

And as Sarge has noted several times, what exactly did we do? Nothing. At all. Zero. We are a neutered population saying, "Thank you, sir, may I have another?" We aren't going to do anything - and I'm talking about the actual productive citizens. The grifter class? Oh good heavens, spare me.
 
They want to keep all of your assets on a ledger. Speak negative about biden....lose your money. Speak negative about climate...lose your home.

The heck I did. I spoke out, didn't wear a mask, countered arguments, tried to convince others to vote against these liars and for the freedoms, etc. I got banned on fartbook, almost run out of restaurants, mocked by fellow teachers, etc. I am only one man, but I did what I could.

Just because we don't have many with the money that these clowns like Gates, etc., have, doesn't mean that we are not shouting as loudly as we can.

The capability that the government has at their disposal is so far beyond the meager resources available to the citizenry it's laughable.
