The thing about renegade is it’s a tradition now... yes there are more modern songs that could be used except none of them are going to get the sane reaction because its like pavlovs dog... the crowd is conditioned to go apeshit for that song... you scream your lungs out extra hard...

Maybe if one of the dozen other songs they play had similar history over time it could replace it, but its not likely any time soon... its not as simple as just playing a different song... there is over a decade of memories and success behind that song... it is what it is...
 
Looks like it fired the Bills players up as much as it did the Steelers...

What has always made it good was the slow build to the song. It's one of the reasons why I was upset when they dropped their traditional player introduction music for "Back in Black." It's an alright song that fits their color rush uniforms, but it's very boring and doesn't build to a crescendo with the players taking the field. It's why "Right Here, Right Now" worked so well for the Steelers. It's why Pitt uses "Thunderstruck" and Virginia Tech "Enter Sandman."
