Burnett release

Pops was a different idiot. He's been banned, but continues to make up new names and come back where he isn't wanted.

Did Morgan Burnett play for the Steelers? I see there are some stats, like 30 total tackles, 17 solo, 6 PD... but I really can't remember him ever being on the field.

Did he pose in any of the group celebrations?

We'll obviously miss him so much.

I thought he was decent when he played.

Considering how little he played, defending six passes was actually pretty impressive.

He apparently has gripes with Tomlin and how he was utilized within the defense. It will be interesting to see if he has more to say. Everyone else who leaves seems to.

Yeah, he was hurt in the beginning and time he was healthy Edmunds was playing well enough to not lose his spot so Burnett played the hybrid S/LB position. Apparently, even though everyone else knew that was the long term position he would eventually play when Edmunds got up to speed he didn’t know that. With signing Barron Burnett is no longer a need. Doubt he finds work for 5 million a year at age 30 so another great career decision by a moron.

It’s too bad because I feel he could have excelled in that role for 2-3 more years with us.

It's one thing for veteran players to merely lose playing time to younger players.

It happens all the time around the league, but there seems to be a pattern of veteran players taking offense to how Tomlin communicates with them regarding their roles and whatnot.

It could just be that the likes of Blount, Harrison and Burnett were all just bitter malcontents, or there could be a deeper issue with Tomlin handling players in a deceitful, disrespectful way.

It's weird because when Burnett was signed, it seemed pretty clear that is the role he'd take over once Edmunds was ready to go. At least clear to everyone but Burnett apparently.

Which brings back the questions about communication.

The situations Blount, Harrison and Burnett were in seemed obvious to everyone except them.

IIRC, Tomlin didn't tell the team Brown wouldn't be playing in the final game. The coaching changeover is never by firing, but by contracts running out or other "excuses" why coaches leave. There are definitely communication issues.

Burnett got better towards the end but was hot garbage for the first while. He was the Artie Burns of the safeties and QBs were looking where he was. He either get PI or a catch against him.
