Bryant Skips Team Meetings

He’s mad because he isn’t being used properly.

But he hasn't looked "good in the Black and Gold" thus far either. I think it was Slash who mentioned his lack of burst since returning. Couple that with his seeming disinterest in running out his routes, lack of ball awareness and lapses in concentration. If there's anyone he should be mad at, it's himself.

Wait until his poor attitude of not going all out costs us a game where we lose by a couple points and if Bryant had made that catch. But no, he failed to go full speed kind of like Sundays game.

You keep his dumb *** on the sideline for a couple games and promote Hunter up.

I think he needs to just move on with his life's work.
If he's a headcase on the Steelers roster, he'll be prone to be a headcase in another locker room.

He's talented no question about that. But maybe football is not his focal point anymore

I'm going wait instead for a play he is involved in wins us a game where if he does not make it we lose.

no wonder Ben thought about retirement...it's like a girl's school in the locker room.

said it before, win or lose, he quits after this year. to much me bullshit and not enough team.

Yep

I just even re-looked at that long Ben pass to MB (bungle Sunday). That defender was right on his ***, if they were in a private setting I would swear they were spooning.

Just no separation. This was a cat who WAS blowing people off the ball.

I looked at other plays and the effort is there on blocks.

So to say the effort isn't there doesn't really mesh.

So it brings us back to will he regain that explosion?

I would like to think so, we all would like to say so.

But you can't expect Big Ben to keep forcing you the ball if your *** isn't getting open.

And you’re confidant of this because? The guy is extremely immature and not at all gratefully. This team could dumped his *** to the curb but decided to stick by him and support his ungrateful ***.

I hope he does come around but nothing gives me that feeling that he will because it’s about him.

Do you not think he dogged it Sunday when he could have had an easy score? That’s why I’m concerned.

I don't think he dogged it Sunday, despite the defender doggying him.

Ok, so I know we're all a little frustrated, but let's keep one thing in mind. He bulked up quite a bit while he was on vacation. That may have cut his speed a bit. He was trying to become more physical and improve his ability to block, but it may have lead to a loss of one of his most important skill-sets.

Let's give him an opportunity to get his **** together. The fact is, he's still actually just about even or even ahead of Smith-Schuster in terms of catches and yards. And he's had fewer targets. So everyone chill.

At the same time, MB needs to get his butt in to practice and keep his head in the game.

I don't think he's dogging it on purpose. And since you pointed a few things out, I think he's actually aware that he doesn't have that burst right now and is "deflecting" attention on his attitude and away from his actual ability to PLAY at the moment.
It's interesting because we saw a lot of jumping, lifting, catching in his workout videos but I can't remember seeing much speed work, work out of track blocks, agility squares etc. A little more of that type of training and he might have came back smaller than he is right now, but more explosive off the line and in his cuts.

I would give him a game to wear the new designer Deuce Staleys and let Heyward Bey have a few long go routes. He still wants to show up and do whatever it takes.

Technically hurt, the team had virtually nothing to lose by holding on to his rights. He was so cheap and so amazingly talented it would have been insane to release him. He would have cleared his suspension and gone to sign a new huge contract with somebody else. The Steelers kept him for cheap because of his mistakes.

That's fair, but let's not pretend they were super altruistic or anything. Opportunity came knockin and they answered the door right quick and in a hurry.

I didn't say I was confident, but instead of waiting for him to COST us a game I will just wait for one where he WINS us one. As far as dogging it the radio shows are saying he lost the ball in the lights.

Tske a 4th round pick for him.

Sure he’s cheap but they could have moved on past him and his issues. They felt like if he could get clean and stay that way, he was worth it.
Hell, we’re all disappointed since we all thought he was worth the wait.
Now he calls off practice after going viral last night and Tomlin is just supposed to ignore it? No, no! He needs to sit for at least a game. No, don’t cut him or even trade him. Worst thing you could do now since you’re be giving in to him. Let him sit and think about it. You want to act like a baby then you get treated like one.
Sure he got his body right for 2017 but he did nothing about what’s most important. His head.

3 years after football he is broke and / or in jail. You taking the over or under?

Bryant seems to be digging a big hole to try to get out of. Will be interesting to see how Tomlin handles this. We have played good football for two game and now big commotion.

I don't know why you don't bench him. His 17 catches this year are hardly what is keeping the team afloat. Steelers have done alright not using him. Doubt much would change if he sits the bench.

And Ben is guilty of it too. Instead of being a leader, and offering to help some of those "me" kinda guys, he wants to tuck his tail and retire. Imagine if Bettis had done that to Ben in 2004-2005, instead of taking a young Ben under his wing, and doing what he could to show how him how to be a true professional both on and off the field? Even then, it took until Ben got in trouble down in Georgia before he really seemed to clean his act up. I love Ben, and want him to play another 5 years. However, I must say that it's bothersome not seeing/hearing him "step up" in the locker room more often.

I don't know. This stuff has been going on for years. When Ben told AB to put his phone away last year after the playoff win because coach was speaking and AB just ignored him with a few young players hanging around him all laughing and carrying on speaks volumes of where this team is. Yes there is a leadership issue on the team but I don't think Ben is the issue.

What? Ben contacted him every day when he went to rehab, texting or calling giving encouragement.
Last year with AB's Facebook live crap, I think Ben is on the video saying, "come on guys, coach is here or about to speak". They just sat there and giggled like teen age girls.
