Bryant: BR "was throwing the ball 40 yards and probably could have thrown it farther"

OMG people ... have a little faith .. If I remember correctly AB was SHUT down in the Seattle game -- we lost but we still scored a TON of point from our other receivers . Lets look at a glass half full instead of one that is half empty ..

Stats from that game --

Markus Wheaton 9 201 1 69 13
DeAngelo Williams 7 88 0 34 7
Martavis Bryant 5 69 0 40 13
Antonio Brown 6 51 0 15

Coverage was rolled to AB. Allowing a lot of one on one for our other receivers. The issue is can the other WR's rise up in absence of their position leader. Their roles have changed. DHB has only been alternating with Bryant all season. AB and Ben have a lot of chemistry which there is no substitute. I'm looking at Coates, Jesse James, and TnT to be positive contributors.

They are going to have to come out and chuck it deep to 1 of them early on(DHB would be my choice) just to let Denver know what Ben has even if its incomplete...If Denver sees he can only throw it 15-25 yards it sure makes playing defense alot easier for them

I do have faith in this team on Sunday. With AB out, it forces Big Ben to not always look to one guy and use the entire team to look for options. So hopefully Ben and Haley have a good game plan for everyone to be involved.

I can't remember which radio station I was listening to a little while ago, but the reporter they were talking to said David DeCastro walked by and mentioned that based on how everyone in the media is talking, they might as well not get on the plane.

I like this team when they are the underdogs and feel dissed. They may just not have the horses to win this one, but I'll be surprised if it's not a close, hard fought game. Go Steelers! Win one for AB!

Its what I want... they need to be completely and totally committed to win this one.... the last game was meaningless, its in a tough place to play and its verse a team that really should have won the first game had they not dropped a bunch of balls and blown a lot of plays... but that's just it... even in that last game vs Sand Diego with so much on the line, they lose focus easier than we do... have all season... let them be the cocky ones goinginto the game...

Vaughn Miller and Ware had one combined tackle and 0 sacks in the first Denver game.

I mean.. did anyone think we would beat the highest scoring team in the league at the time (Arizona) with Vick and Landry playing QB? The rest of the team rose their level of play, and the defense played maybe their most impressive outing. It was just so long ago we don't remember. But if they can channel that urgency and grit they showed against a team who is largely considered one of the strong contenders for the SB, why not?

They have a much better offense than Denver does as well.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. And honestly, which Manning are we going to see? He's still dealing with that foot injury, whether anyone says it or not, and it's the same guy who threw 17 interceptions this season. The defense was solid against the bungholes but they can't give Denver any cheap big plays because of a missed tackle. Be smart, execute and get after noodle arm.

Manning at home this season, 1 TD, 8 INT's, per the radio. I'm to lazy to look it up.

That's according to Savran, who's on the air now (970 AM):

Bryant said it after today's morning practice to a writer for the-paper-that-can't-be-mentioned-here

Added Wheaton, to the same reporter: "He threw it with some zip."

So there's some good news, maybe very good news.

The reporter will be on with Savran by 1:30 (ET).

The thin in in Denver will some extra yards to any QB's deep ball.

Anyone think that may be the Bronco's will relax a little because AB is not in the game -- he is the best in the league .. What they don't know is that we have SEVERAL others that are just as good ...

They all have to be ready to step up !!

Not a chance. We beat them at home, with some of their starting secondary not playing in the game. They may let their emotions get the best of them, but they're not about to take anything lightly.

"Route tree."

Never heard that term before. I like it.

Learn it. I had to run enough of them...

I am more fearful now than ever that Ben doesn't play on Sunday

Eh I disagree. His injury is all about playing through pain and possibly being limited on velocity. There's no risk of permanent damage. I just don't see a world in which Ben says "no it hurts too much and my arm isn't strong enough, I can't play coach" .. It's not like the concussion protocol where the decisions would be made for him

Bingo!!!!!!.....Listen to the lady fellas.......

Talib is going to be on Martavis probably with a safety shading towards him as they would have if AB was playing. DHB, Wheaton, & TnT out of the backfield have the skills to move the chains. Its gonna happen

Manning led teams ALWAYS choke at some point in the post-season. (The only single, solitary exception was when they were playing against the scrub Rex Grossman) There is no reason NOT to believe that their choke week will be on Sunday.

Knowing that AB will be out in advance actually helps. Some teams fold when facing adversity in the playoffs. Some teams step it up. After what I saw last week, this team shows NO Signs of folding. Shazier refused to lose even after that interception. You can bet your *** that wasn't lost on the rest of the team when they were watching films this week. He stepped it up to PLAYOFF level and I have a feeling that it might get contagious. The other receivers need to step it up and they know it. And they will.

Manning didn't step up the in the SB that he won. They decided to run heavily that game and took him out of the equation. Excellent coaching move by Dungy.

Though I agree they will all have to step up. There is no other AB on our team or anyone elses.

The difference in the Seattle game was that they had their top corners covering AB and Bryant, thus Wheaton had a monster game. You have Talib on Bryant and Harris on Wheaton, now you're relying on DHB or Coates to have a monster game, and that is a stretch. Not having DWill doesn't help either. Look for Heath to have a big game

Good as it's gonna get News...

If Ben can go I'm plenty hopeful. Sure we'll miss AB but not as much as Ben.

Optimistic if Ben is as advertised right now. Save AB for the next game. Coates game hero hopefully. I can see the Steelers pulling this game off

My goal is to complete the posting tree by the end of the weekend.

Funny, serious, sarcastic, sincere, pissy, and whatever else I can come up.

Of course, gotta "go deep," at some point too.
