Bryant: BR "was throwing the ball 40 yards and probably could have thrown it farther"

That's according to Savran, who's on the air now (970 AM):

Bryant said it after today's morning practice to a writer for the-paper-that-can't-be-mentioned-here

Added Wheaton, to the same reporter: "He threw it with some zip."

So there's some good news, maybe very good news.

The reporter will be on with Savran by 1:30 (ET).

With AB out, we need Ben at or near 100%. Wheaton and Bryant must step up big. And, either DHB or Coates needs to step up and contribute with multiple catches. We can't have any drops in this game. They will be magnified even more.

TnT baby!!

They need to blow it up real good....The fellow on the right, Joe Flaherty. is from Pittsburgh:

Good as it's gonna get News...

If Ben can go I'm plenty hopeful. Sure we'll miss AB but not as much as Ben.

The o line better play out of their minds as this will be the best secondary(they are healthy this time around) Ben has faced this year.

It will come down to them giving big dummy plenty of time to unconfuse himself before he throws his trade mark stupid pick.

This is the element every sports writer and posters on this board are overlooking.

The plan needs to ensure that Ben gets as much protection as possible and still run an offense. I would hate to see a good solid hit on him and the Steelers lose him for more than just this game. With the defense on the uptick the next few years should be very good for Steeler fans provided Ben is the quarterback.

GAME day will tell but is good news as the arow is trending up on this. AB is a BIG loss but BR would be ev en bigger. The only question now is " WILL pacman APPOLOGIZE to brown?"

As long as Ben takes those dump off passes to the Frenchman and hits Heath and the Outlaw Jesse James in the middle of the field I think we have a fighters chance!!!
I see Coates, Wheaton and DHB having a significant catch of some sort in this game in a critical situation that propels us to a win in Denver. National Media now says
that Steelers have absolutely no chance against Denver!!! Butler will blitz Manning and Hayward and Tuitt will have moster games in the run game while also collapsing the middle of the pocket.
I Cannot wait until kickoff time this SUNDAY fellas/felletes. And I didn't even mention Martavis Bryant....I think he again steps his game up in the absence of his mentor AB.
LET's GO STEELERS!!!

Building on the great article Supe shared in another thread. Ben had the exact same injury against Houston when Mario Williams fell on him during a sack. Ben was back and won the game vs Cleveland the very next week:

With 7, the Steelers ALWAYS have a chance... Dude is just magic. When he came back into the game at Cincy I looked at Mrs. GRB and said "we've got a shot..."

Anyone think that may be the Bronco's will relax a little because AB is not in the game -- he is the best in the league .. What they don't know is that we have SEVERAL others that are just as good ...

They all have to be ready to step up !!

See my post in the other thread about Brown being out ..

To your first point, I hope that is true. They obviously fear AB after the last meeting so maybe they will subconsciously let up a little.

But to the bolded? Let's not get crazy

We have several others...none close to "just as good" though. I admire your optimism, but AB is the best in the league. Our 2nd best WR is top 25 at best.

"Several others just as good?" The entire NFL doesn't have WRs "just as good." AB is beyond special. Wheaton doesn't have the chemistry that AB does with Ben, Bryant and Bey drop several passes a game. We are no where near to as being as good as we are with AB.

One more note from the Good (Black and Gold) Ship Lollipop:

Savran pointed out that in the previous game against the Broncos, BR was effective but didn't have a completion over 23 or 24 yards.

Just sayin'.

We will see. No doubt AB is greatness. He is also targeted all the time. Let's see how the Marcus does as the main man. The difference of course was AB got all the attention ,double coverage. Bryant and DHB are going to have to use their speed drawing guys away. I predict a big game for Marcus.

OMG people ... have a little faith .. If I remember correctly AB was SHUT down in the Seattle game -- we lost but we still scored a TON of point from our other receivers . Lets look at a glass half full instead of one that is half empty ..

Stats from that game --

Markus Wheaton 9 201 1 69 13
DeAngelo Williams 7 88 0 34 7
Martavis Bryant 5 69 0 40 13
Antonio Brown 6 51 0 15

Yeah but you have to take into account t that they were doubling AB. giving all those other guys chances.

I think Martavis draws their #1, if so Marcus will be crucial

Have a ton of faith, but also a lot of common sense. This is not Seattle and D will is not playing so those stats seem insignificant.

So you're taking the 7 then?
