Browns smarter than a Steelers?

Huey is an idiot! Only reason he wants Haley gone is threat of losing his job. Not a Haley fan, just saying .....

I did not hate Haley at first because he did keep Ben from taking 5 years off his career from eating hits like with Arians. I ended up hating him because he would not adjust his scheme to fit the player. It play calling was just too conservative with the talent we have.

He has to be used to it by now. Defense cost us a playoff game against Jacksonville, so we sacked the OC. Dude is just the eternal scapegoat

His outing was imminent far before the Jags loss. His contract was up and they knew they weren't going to renew it. Ben hated him. That's why he gave the retirement statements after 2016 season. He was pissed Todd was coming back.

The Browns have won only 3 games in the 39 that Jackson has coached for them.

That reflects horribly on the head coach, regardless of personnel.

NO NO NO.. it's the players fault. If they would run the play calls correctly then they'd be great! Jackson isn't telling them to fumble the ball or throw ints. So he can't be held responsible.

My thoughts exactly. There are guys who can put ego aside and then there are guys like Todd Haley. I think Arians was the same.

Every coordinator comes with pros and cons... Haley is a rb dream... arians can get an offense down to the red zone easily ... but yes niether really adapts to fit players strengths or weaknesses...
arians wanted a heavy zone blocking scheme with a bunch of maulers left over from cowher or drafted with the former style in mind
He ignored the run too much and pulled out key plays like quick slants and play action, and he escrewed true fullbacks....
He also went to heavy on specific players sets in specific formations that telegraphed our intent...

Haley corrected some of that, but he still was more interested in running his offense, players be damned.... he obviously reigned in bens playcalling and no huddle.... and his wr routes were horrid compared to what arians drew up

Niether of those two were playing chess with the opponents D... they were just calling the plays they felt comfortable with....

We have done more set up plays this year than we have all of last year... and the play action is a great addition again...

I don’t know if Flichner works out but moving on from Haley was the right move

Hue is an awful head coach. I'm still stunned Cleveland didn't make a change when they knew they were taking a quarterback.

I actually have some disdain for Todd (although oddly felt some nostalgia when seeing him on "Hard Knocks" and on the sidelines during games). But it is OBVIOUS Todd was pushing an agenda to thwart Hue's regime. I think TH wants a shot as head coach. The problem with Hue is he is phoney. Men do not follow phoney men, and they never will.

Maybe Cleveland kept Hue one more year so they get another draft of super high picks. They could be building a dynasty if they know what they are doing.

You don't bring people in to do a job and then tell them how to do it.

Stay in your lane Hue

Actually, you tell them how to do it, you just don’t do it for them. If you are doing the job, then what the hell are they doing?

The only way our offense was effective was when Ben was running no huddle under Haley. That guys sucks at creating mismatches. He's more of a do the same thing every play guy.

Now give me KC's OC. That guy knows how to get talent and speed in space to make plays!

Haley saved his career because of Ben running no huddle and calling his own plays. The O was just horrid when TH actually called the plays - I mean HORRIBLE. But not only does TH suck at calling/designing plays, he creates an environment of upheaval - always has.

And KC's OC is really Andy Reid, isn't it, for all intents and purposes?

Uncle Todd is a sacrifice to the football gods
