Brown Speaks Out Via Twitter

Coming from the person calling other fans turncoats for not supporting AB after he quit on his team. Yeah, that's rich right there.
No, calling people turncoats for more than just AB. We have people turning on Ben too. It's nothing but hate being spewed one thread after another. And then someone posts about another team's fans in meltdown mode like it's funny, but this place has been a downward spiral for the last couple years.

And again, didn't ask you to support brown, just that saying "**** AB" is a little extreme.

Maybe go take some midol or an antidepressant so you aren't so angry all the time

I agree with the hate being spewed everywhere.

As far as AB goes, I don't think saying **** AB is to extreme at all at this point. He walked out in a must win game. There have been guys that have played in the middle of the season after just having a baby, or while their wife is ready to go into labor, or after losing a loved one. AB doesn't show because his feelings are hurt???? Then he can't call Tomlin on game day, has his agent do it. And hasn't called Tomlin or Rooney since, but he can be all over social media, if ever there was a time to say **** AB it's now.
He can't be an adult and talk to Art?

I met Brown when he was a rookie. The guy back then was just happy to be noticed. He talked a bit. He was hardly a diva type back then.

What struck me is how small he is in person. He did not have an NFL body. My hand was bigger than his. While he's a hall of fame player in his time, he might have only been very good in the 1990's or 1980s when DB's were allowed touch WR's during their release, and hit them without the fear of flag or fine on most collisions as long as they are not blatantly late. I'm not saying Brown isn't tough, he is. I'm saying his small frame isn't built for collisions.

I also think Ben who buys second chances and has good deep ball accuracy allowed Brown to become an elite level receiver. With an average QB, his value would go down a tad.

At this point, trade the diva to the highest bidder, as long as that team is not New England, but saying that shop him to New England to help set the market for what he is worth

AB wasn't a diva in year two either. I think he started to change with increased money and fame. It got to him like it did Ben early in his career. Just not sure AB can fixed at this stage. We will see but it is sad, because the anger held over him is magnified because of everyone's admiration of his game. And you have to love his hardship story.

If it is anyone's fault besides AB it would fall to Tomlin. And the proof is the alarming amount of issues this team has had on both sides of the ball with behavioral issues. So yes if I see a finger pointing Ben's way I damn sure will bring up the ring leaders inept management of these players. And no I don't make a defense for AB he is the number one culprit regardless. Far as a return we will have to see. If it is just a 1 we will have to live with it and hope they can revisit the JuJu/Watt/Conner draft.

Slash, we know about AB and his antics and yes Tomlin has some blame due his lackadaisical treatment of AB's foolishness. I've heard rumors about AB being fined for a bunch of stuff team related, but not reported. But we know he doesn't care. Hell, he had 50k in one month of endzone celebrations a couple years ago. So, the fines don't work. Other than benching him, what resolution is there?

Also confused about the alarming amount of behavioral issues on both sides of the ball you've mentioned. Outside of AB, I only recall Bryant and Deebo. Bell wasn't locker room related, it was contract related and outside of Tomlin's purview. What other players are you including? I only count 3 of 60 players on the roster beginning in 2017.

Spot on Slash.....Ryan Clark's statements seem valid at this point....and yep, seems AB followed the same pattern as Ben after his status ascended. Fortunately for Ben, he had a pretty good support system with his parents. Mr. Rooney and Art2 sat him down also after the Milidgville incident and gave him a pretty simple decision to make. Clean up or you are gone. His parents assisted with him getting on the straight and narrow.

Unfortunately, AB hasn't had the same support system. Dulac and DK did indicate Art2 did have discussion with AB after the FB incident....but again, he doesn't have the support system as Ben. Hence, the repetitive actions. To be honest, I'll miss the player in AB, but I won't miss his or LeVeon's antics.

Take Midol...lol. Maybe if AB took some this season we wouldn't be where we are at now with him. So **** AB and his diva quitting ***.

Bell had a walk thru issue and some social media issues pushing the envelope.I know we don't like to bunch it together but Bryant showed that social media could be a distraction.

Mitchell had some moments that should have been handled. And we know the anthem incident wasn't handled right.

Just a lot of things, we can categorize them however. But it is alarming what he doesn't handle right.

You can also say slash it was only this and this player. But add up every issue, and reoccurring issue, and you have a whole shitload of incorrectly handled incidents. And that is even if you disagree with some of the players having issues.

If you read between the lines and listen to what James is saying, it sure makes it sound like AB's beef is much more with Tomlin and the organization than it is with Ben "calling him out" or wanting to run a play again.

Yeah's Bell showing up late for walkthrough on the KC game was boneheaded, and I think he was given a hefty fine, but he had another missed walk through that was approved however. Not sure why but I heard it was NFL Brand related (Meeting VIPs or kids etc.). And yeah....social medial is probably the biggest headache with the sport. Players feel the need to show "their brand"since they can't remove their helmets at the end of a whistle. But for crying out loud, that's what their endorsements are for. I wish they could put a moratorium on social medial during the season, but it isn't happening.

I will respectfully agree to disagree with you about the anthem Slash. I thought the decision by Tomlin was fair and logical. He left it up to the players to decide, but only in an unanimous footing. Players made the decision to either stand for the anthem or not. If it wasn't unanimous then they were to stay in the locker room. All the players agreed to stand. Al wanted to be able to see the colors so asked the captains if he could be up front so he could. They all approved. The problem was during the procession, the field personnel for the flag presentation got in the way of the players and separated Al from the rest at the front of the tunnel. You had the media photographers front and center because of the national attention to "who will stand/kneel" that weekend and Al was caught for them to show division, when there was none. Tomlin had nothing to do with it. He expected the players to be all standing for the anthem or in the locker room avoiding the media sensationalizing it. All the coaching staff and training staff were out there standing and he said he didn't care either way what the players did as long it was at 100% consensus and 100% participation. The definition of "Team" IMO.

Al felt devastated in causing the attention and blowback by the media and talking heads. He even apologized to the coaches for causing such a distraction. Something Tomlin said, he (Al) of all people don't have to apologize for anything. No slant towards you at all on your opinion. I find it invaluable and objective on all viewpoints on the board. I respect it as I respect your service to our country. Much appreciated as my father was a USMC Korean War vet (Inchon). We may not agree on all the topics, but I respect your opinion of them.

Yeah I won't use the anthem as a selling point just thought he could have handled better. Me I would have told them they are standing, but if they want to do something off the field as a team that is doable. Just glad that is seems to be done with.

But even without that too many repeat issues.

I guess what bothers me through this whole thing is depleting talent is probably on the horizon, I feel it should not have gotten to that point.

And I feel strongly that Tomlin is deficient in certain areas.

So I think ok maybe make up for it in talent.

And it looks like that even maybe out of the thought process.

I agree,,,what I think is telling is Art2 not committing on an extension just yet. Never, seen either he or Dan back off on the status of the coach, except maybe that one year with Chin. MT I think has been given a idolization that improvement is needed....So we will see. Really interested with what they do with Dupree. Hopefully he will take the lessor contract, otherwise he will be cut loose, and we will be drafting two or three LB's this year.

AB was not man enough to say he was sorry he screwed up, his bigger than life ego would not allow it. So now everyone including players have pointed him out.

there are probably 2-[3 steelers who left and tought the grass was greaner on the other side the rest saw rapid decline and a ugly reality check the 2-3 that had success playing at high level after either asking for more money or discrepancy with FO are

Leon Searcy

McFadden who came back after asking to much and saw he did not fit inb the scheme Arizona was running thus why we got him back for a mid rnd pick.

Ok, enough with the false narrative. Brown has made some fairly critical errors but the MAIN one he's been thrown under the bus for is not actually true.

He walked out in a must win game.

Brown did NOT walk out on a must win game. He planned to play. Now it IS true that he skipped a couple practices. THAT was not cool. However given the fact that he PLANNED to play on Sunday, one can only assume (logically) that either he has been allowed to do something like this in the past or SOMEBODY ELSE has been allowed to do something like this in the past.

Brown showed up and was told THAT standard either never did, or no longer applied to him. Which is likely why he left at halftime angry and is currently refusing to talk to anyone. HE feels as though a double-standard has been applied in some way or another. And it likely has. He was PROBABLY allowed to skip a practice now and then. He UNDOUBTEDLY saw Ben skip Wednesday practices without any negative consequences, indeed with the coaches' blessing. He UNDOUBTEDLY saw Bell skip practices and a walkthrough before a playoff game and not only was he allowed to play, as far as I can tell nothing was even said.

I'm not saying Brown is entirely in the right here. He SHOULD have gone to that walkthrough and team meeting. And he absolutely should be talking to the people right now that are causing him frustration. But again - HE didn't QUIT on the team in that Bengal Game. Tomlin benched him.

You could argue Burress found PLENTY of green grass. He was a hero in a SB. Not too shabby.

**** Harrison. He quit on the Steelers also. **** all of these me first players. This is all on Tomlin. The sooner he is gone the better.

Yeah. Stop showing up to practice. Skipping a schedule MRI(probably because he lied about an injury) and not returning any calls. Yep ....that's quitting on the team. And it's laughable that he thought he would play on Sunday. Tomlin always talks about the standards, but he has freaking lowered them since he arrived.

No defense for AB. He pulled a Constanza - like move. Ghosted the team and then showed up for work. **** him.

That is something we sort of overlook. If he was just a huge idiot or had a secret agenda on how to get more money. Some might call it a reach and perhaps it is. But someone that isn't used to money and now spends it like it's monopoly money. Could be angling for more money. He knows the Steelers won't likely be his Huckleberry so might another team be the ticket? Probably a small chance that this is the case, more likely he is a idiot. But maybe a long the way after the fact his agent was like well we are here. So let me tell you your options. Continue to not answer their calls and perhaps you will get another big payday. Unlikely like I said but in every scenario you examine the options.

slash, you worded it better than I did but you bet, usually on these "**** you" cases there is a back-side motivation and usually it's about money. AB is spending billionaire money even though he is millionaire income. He will be broke 3-8 years out of football regular paycheck. I use to feel sorry for fools like him but NOT at all anymore. Common people live on very little in comparison and if they happened to get a large chunk of MuLa, they'd be set and "DICIPLINED" for life.

Burress did make the winning catch had a few good years but in NY his legal troubles started that led him to prison, and after he chose the jets ahead of us which he regretted and retired as a steeler playing 1 last year.

Are Brown's spending habits also "all on Tomlin?" Just curious, since everything else is. ****, maybe Tomlin should control his checking account and just give him an allowance.

I am just so sick of the "all on Tomlin" stupidity. It isn't all on Tomlin. These are grown *** men who need to start acting like it. I think Tomlin, to his credit, has tried to treat them as such and they have abused it.

And I WANT TOMLIN FIRED. I want to emphasize that. For his failures on the field and not maximizing this talent. But some of this other ****? There needs to be a level of responsibility on the player end, too, and no matter how much you may agree with that, when the argument ends with "it's all on Tomlin" that tends to remove said responsibility. Words mean things.
