Brown Speaks Out Via Twitter

Are Brown's spending habits also "all on Tomlin?" Just curious, since everything else is. ****, maybe Tomlin should control his checking account and just give him an allowance.

I am just so sick of the "all on Tomlin" stupidity. It isn't all on Tomlin. These are grown *** men who need to start acting like it. I think Tomlin, to his credit, has tried to treat them as such and they have abused it.

And I WANT TOMLIN FIRED. I want to emphasize that. For his failures on the field and not maximizing this talent. But some of this other ****? There needs to be a level of responsibility on the player end, too, and no matter how much you may agree with that, when the argument ends with "it's all on Tomlin" that tends to remove said responsibility. Words mean things.

I don't think one poster blamed it all on Tomlin.

But like it or not he is in charge of this kindergarten, he either keeps them in line or

doesn't.

Seeing how we are on the "tired" conversation. I am tired of some fans not wanting to acknowledge his part in the circus.

I am also tired of every year having some sort of drama attached to it. Either fix the problems or ship them off..

My stance is well documented but I will refresh.

1. Players fault for not acting right
2. Secondary Cancer is Tomlin not getting them to act right.

It is ok for both to be wrong, because well they are.

Slash, for the love, what the hell does "it's all on Tomlin" mean then? And what part of I want him fired doesn't acknowledge that? Well, at least the shitshow on the field at times, covering wr with linebackers or dumb *** challenges. Somebody doesn't get half fired. But controlling grown men making millions? I'm sorry, we will just have to disagree on that, because I think it is the individual's responsibility.

I don't know. Maybe it's eras or the way I was raised. If I screwed up playing sports, it was my fault. I didn't run around blaming the coach for everything, which is what goes on today. I know. I've coached. My parents didn't run around blaming the coach, either, and sniffing my ***.

It is OK to agree to disagree. I respect your opinion.

It is the individuals responsibility. We do partially agree.

Just some coaches are better with communicating and handling situations that arise.

I think our team is deficient in that area.

I am not saying it is all fine and dandy in that area. Over the years there have been players all over the league who are difficult to control. They are just ********, and discipline or lack thereof makes no difference. I am just wondering if the Steelers have few of those kind of guys right now.

I want to acknowledge you may be totally right and I certainly respect your opinion as well. Some better discipline from Tomlin would have kept these guys in line. I'm just not so sure.

Ok, enough with the false narrative. Brown has made some fairly critical errors but the MAIN one he's been thrown under the bus for is not actually true.

Brown did NOT walk out on a must win game. He planned to play. Now it IS true that he skipped a couple practices. THAT was not cool. However given the fact that he PLANNED to play on Sunday, one can only assume (logically) that either he has been allowed to do something like this in the past or SOMEBODY ELSE has been allowed to do something like this in the past.

Brown showed up and was told THAT standard either never did, or no longer applied to him. Which is likely why he left at halftime angry and is currently refusing to talk to anyone. HE feels as though a double-standard has been applied in some way or another. And it likely has. He was PROBABLY allowed to skip a practice now and then. He UNDOUBTEDLY saw Ben skip Wednesday practices without any negative consequences, indeed with the coaches' blessing. He UNDOUBTEDLY saw Bell skip practices and a walkthrough before a playoff game and not only was he allowed to play, as far as I can tell nothing was even said.

I'm not saying Brown is entirely in the right here. He SHOULD have gone to that walkthrough and team meeting. And he absolutely should be talking to the people right now that are causing him frustration. But again - HE didn't QUIT on the team in that Bengal Game. Tomlin benched him.

What a crock of ****. He bailed on practice and skipped the walkthrough and went AWOL. And when he got called out on his ****, he walked away at halftime. He's a ****** quitter and a whiner. He can take his twitter account and shove it up his ***.

He left his team at halftime.

Gone for good because the teammates liked Juju better

So you are saying it's OK to leave practice (early) on Wednesday, not show up or call in on Thursday, NOT show up on or return fellow player's / coach's / OWNER's calls, not show up on Saturday and NOT call anyone and also had skipped a MRI to provide in jury excuse credibility, then have agent call in to say he can play, then show up and told he isn't playing BUT getting paid for game A-N-D still chosing to leave game before the half..........

You call that NOT quitting on your team............................... **** that is lenient thinking dude.

Haven't read the entire thread yet but I thought this was a good point and one thing I wanted to mention, I almost in a way feel for Tomlin having to walk this fine line. I mean, damned if you do damned if you don't w/ AB, because like you said, he is a grown man, but he's only physically a grown man. He's a child otherwise. I don't know how you rein in an immature, me-first child who's also the best player on your football team. You put up with the antics because he's producing on the field and producing wins for your football team, but at what ultimate cost?

If they would have lost that game against Cincy while Brown was on the sideline, Tomlin would've been absolutely crucified. Then he'd be more concerned with disciplining his players than with winning football games.

For clarification, from the various print media sources and Tomlin’s presser....

AB was present during the Wed morning walkthrough. Wed afternoon practice reported knee discomfort. Tomlin held him out of practice as precautionary.

Thursday morning AB still complained of knee soreness and Tomlin again held him out of the practice sessions. Friday morning, AB again informed Tomlin and trainers knee was still flaring up. Tomlin and medical staff requested/prescribed him to get a MRI, to which he never showed up. He was listed on the injury list as knee/coaches decision.Tomlin and medical staff attempted to contact AB late Friday afternoon/evening with no contact.

Saturday morning before walkthrough Tomlin and presumably Mr. Rooney attempted to contact AB. No reply. No show at walkthrough, and again no response from calls from Tomlin or the front office throughout the day and evening. At no time through this period has it been revealed AB contacted any active teammate or anyone in the organization.

On Sunday morning, Tomlin gets a call from Rosenhaus that AB is available and ready to play. The rest is well communicated.

JuJu is beloved by the city of Pittsburgh, Steelers fans across the nation and (likely) his teammates in a way that AB will never be, and AB can't handle that IMO. AB from what I've heard really cares about what others think of him, and JuJu winning the MVP just confirmed to him that his teammates, coaches & Steeler Nation didn't love him (in his child-like mind). That was the last straw for him. Harrison even hinted that it really rubbed him raw.

Unfortunate for both he and the team that things ended up this way. When you don't call back the man who signs your enormous checks, that signals it's the end of the road.

The more I think about it, the more Brown to the Jets for their 3rd overall pick makes sense. And while they are at it, let them Sign Bell, and pick up Foster. They have plenty of cap space.

Team Needs NY Jets:

 1. Running Back: The Jets need a potent, every-down running back to help Sam Darnold. Isaiah Crowell, Bilal Powell and Elijah McGuire aren't cutting it. I imagine an early-round pick will be used on the position.
 2. Wide Receiver: The Jets have one viable receiver in Robby Anderson. They need a second option to threaten defenses vertically.
 3. Guard: The Jets must bolster their blocking unit to protect Darnold. The entire line, save for left tackle, might need to be revamped.
 4. Center: New York could use multiple new offensive linemen. Center is a weakness.
