You gotta love Baldinger's enthusiasm.

Vader, watch this punch from Bush, knocking the OL to the ground. Right in the beginning of the vid. I've seen this happen more times than once. I know he didn't do a lot of it in college and he didn't have a lot of takeaways either, but damn, he's adapting pretty quickly don't you think?

He looked like Troy on the fumble recovery / TD. If the game 'slows down' for him, look out.

That would suggest he can get off blocks or not?

I loved the fumble recovery. I was yelling at the TV for someone to pick the damn thing up. All the vets stood around holding their dicks and the Cobra picked it up and ran it in for the TD. The dude just has a nose for the football and knows what to do. Can't wait to see him continue to improve.

Bill Cowher was on The Fan recently had this to say about Bush "I think as he settles into this position, he’s going to be a special player for a long time." Looks like he's turning a lot of heads.

I’ll admit I was a doubter and still am somewhat skeptical.
He still needs to get stronger at the point of attack imo..
He’s like a slugger in baseball.. it’s over the wall or a K at the moment ..
However I’m excited to see more!

I'm not as enamored as most. The OG he "knocked" down was running away from him and he hit him on the shoulder. Also the OG is Schofield. A nobody that has bounced from tackle to guard on two different teams in 6 years. Also did you notice where the tackle was made... 6-7 yards down the field. Why is he hitting an OL when the RB is running through the lane? I can show you game film of real OL pushing him 10 yards down field. That OG wasn't even expecting him to hit him because there was really no reason to.

The 3 play I'm not even sure why he used it. Bush doesn't even make the play on the outside. He gets an assist on the tackle I guess but the play was made by the DB.

Tipped balls and backwards passes are luck. I give him credit for picking it up. But again he has 0 FF on the year. He's just picking balls up that are on the ground. I'm glad he is always around the ball. But again this is SD and their OL has been shuffled because of injuries. It isn't the pats*** OL.

I know the kid is going to make some plays especially against bad teams. My issue is when he faces a real OL like the pats**** , KC or even Dallas. What if he isn't going against a shuffled OL? Show me tape of him taking on an OL head on. Not hitting him while he's turned. Show me him taking on the RB in the hole by himself. All of his tackles around the LOS are assists. I know he's going to be a good ILB but he still has limitation that are obvious.

He was squared up with Marshal Yanda and he knocked his *** down. Can't find any gifs of it or anything right now, but I promise you it happened. The dude can strike.

I've seen every play of every game. I don't remember that. But I can show you him being pushed 10+ yards down the field as well. The fumble he recovered from the SF game. He's the inside Linebacker but he gets pushed so far outside by the TE that he is there when the fumble happens next to the sideline. That's what people don't see. They just see the highlights and aren't paying attention to what he is not doing. The fumble overshadows everything. He didn't force the fumble he fell on it. After getting manhandled by a TE. He should have been inside where the RB was running the ball. But the TE bull rushed him all the way to the other side line. You can see it here:

It's that way with a lot of his fumble recoveries. He's in position to recover them because he had nothing to do with forcing them and he is actually out of position. Mostly because he's being blocked. Again I'm not saying he's horrible or a bad LB. But he has limitation. Baldinger is a homer. Which is why I assume he put that 3rd play in there. Any other player that makes that assist nobody says a word about. Because he had absolutely nothing to do with the play. The DB had the guy down before Bush even touches him. But somehow Bush is making a great play by "cutting off the angle" when he was nowhere near the "angle".

Geesh he has 6 whole games going for his career. Great start! But. We have a long way to go and a lot of hard work. I'm certainly way more expressed with Bush that a bunch of the other first rounders we have drafted over the years.

Just about every rookie with the exception of a few need to get NFL stronger in some form or fashion. Shazier had troubles getting off blocks and was developing nicely upon his injury. So as he gradually improves against blocks his speed and instincts are helping him make plays. Hell Bince is a good run blocker and gets caught up in blocks. It happens to the best of the best. I find it interesting how critical some are of Bush yet he is a big reason the D is improving. And that is what matters that while he is improving the D is improving. I am more concerned about what our receivers are not doing than the occasional block Bush doesn't get off. As he is still getting in the backfield with tackles for loss. He is flowing to the ball quickly and reacting quickly. I was happy with the draft pick from the getgo and he has surpassed my expectations so far in his wet behind the ear rookie season.

Brian Baldinger was born in Pittsburgh:flag: so I guess he might be guilty of being a "Homer" though he never played for the Steelers.

Click on his twitter link and listen to his analysis.

Just nice to have a player on the team like Devin Bush who is hustling to the ball.

Barring injuries, the future looks brighter for the Steeler D with him on it.

In my opinion, worth the move up to get him.
