It looks like the NFL supplemental draft in July may be the best answer to Brendan Sorsby's problems. Would the Steelers consider bidding perhaps a second-round pick on him? I say why not? At least he bets on his own team....:sneaky:

Is he supposed to be someone amazing? His history is not super amazing, unless there is something I am missing.

He's one of the names in the vaunted 2027 class who's supposed to leap from 2026 5th round to 2027 1st round. He was a name I had on my early list for 2027, but with his issues, I'd pass. The Steelers also don't need a third project at QB, invest in the two you have.

Considering our QB room, I would not.

Howard may be gone, Allar may / not develop into the upper tier, Rudy is only warm back-up and cheap. Aaa-Ron is only a one year this year, provided he signs.

A lot can change between now and August so until the time frame is way closer it is hard to know the direction of the team.

I think hold off and draft QB in ‘27, unless a leader comes forward between now and then.

Salute the nation

Sorsby is 6'3", 235 lbs. with a ton of athleticism. Had 27 touchdowns with only 5 INTs at Cincinnati last season with 9 additional TDs on the ground. Those numbers are actually pretty amazing, but the Bearcats were not in the national spotlight.

He transferred to Texas Tech for his senior year, but has recently admitted himself into a gambling treatment facility, and put his college career in jeopardy. The Steelers probably won't be interested now that they took Allar and especially if Rodgers finally returns, but I think he is an interesting prospect for some team to gamble on (get it?) if he does come out via the supplemental draft.

Just throwing a different topic out there other than Tomlin and Rodgers.

Actually Sorsby probably would have been taken sometime on day 2 had he come out, just like Allar. Watch some film on the guy...he is impressive. And, unlike Allar, he would have been the perfect quarterback for Kotelnicki's offense at Penn State, ironically.

I was wrong initially about the timing -- they have the supplemental draft in July, usually about a week or so before training camps open. Which makes sense.
