It was pretty close but I think most expected this. I'm glad there won't be a strike.

When will the details of the contract be available?

I will say this. The players made a decision for 10 years (longer than most will play. Longer than many who haven't even played a down yet will play) based upon 60 votes. Wow.

Listening to chatter on the NFL network. Cap number coming in is up by 10 million from 188 million to 198.2 million for this year. Next year will be more

It probably passed due to the Corona Virus. Players lose a ton of leverage if the leagues are suspending seasons.

It really helps out the Steelers now. Should free up close to 25M with restructures.

They shouldn't have to cut anyone they don't want to.

Outstanding !

Stop making sense. Making my head hurt

Thing is the season still could be shut down. But it definitely benefits the Steelers off-season approach and I am stoked about that.

I may be wrong, but didn't the owners want to get this done soon because the new TV contracts are also being negotiated. Easier to get those deals done knowing there'll be two extra playoff games and an additional regular season game starting in 2021. More money now in those deals.

Too many young players on their first contracts, happy to be making their 1-2 million in the league, not wanting it interrupted in anyway.

No concern for the future of the players as a whole.

Things in society change so quickly over short periods of time. Signing 10 year labour deals just seems to be a little bit too long of a span at one time to insure it is relevant to players near the end of the contract. Oh well it has passed.... at least now we will see some sports news over the next month and a half with teams being able to restructure current deals, FA signings and a clear view of what the cap is.
Hopefully the draft will still run....... but the NFL will lose huge money and so will the city that was supposed to host it should Covid 19 still be an issue with large crowds gathering.

I think it passed due to the Cannibas virus. That is a massive game changer for probably 60-70% of the league. I wonder what the relationship with Martavis Bryant is like? Anyone thinking the Steelers have a significant cap relief now better think twice. The price of everything just went WAY UP.

I never thought they were going to get cap relief I knew they were up close to the cap and now probably over it.

But what I do know is there is now no cap on restructuring, so for the Steelers it should be business as usual.
