Brandon Marshall signs with Giants

That's actually pretty good value. $6M a year? I would have taken him for that.

Well that was quick. Are we still in the legal tampering time frame?

If we are gonna invest 6M in anyone it better be a D player. We can get a TE and WR high in the draft and expect immediate impact on a rookie contract. Corners and Edge players take longer to develop

It's not a bad signing for NYG because there is no long term investment.

In a lot of ways, had he signed here, he would be replacing Ladarius Green as that "big slot guy" to create mismatches in the middle of the field. That's part of the reason I was interested in him as a signing but if the team decides to give Green another shot and he's somewhat healthy, then it's okay to pass on him.

Looking back, you'd almost have wished we had signed Green like this. A 2-year, prove it deal with more money but allows the Steelers to almost decide year-to-year what to do. I feel like if we weren't so tied to Green's contract he would be released (and might still be).

Well, whatever.... it's decided now for good or bad.

he was cut can sign anytime

Gotcha. Haven't been paying super close attention to all the FA nuances. I know better than to get my hopes up that we're going to be FA players.

Too rich for us I guess

Better than the Ravens

Eli got's to be happy!!

Good for the G-Men...My Second favorite NFL franchise..

Marshall has a side gig on Inside the NFL that films in NY. When he played for Chicago, he used to fly to NY on his off day to film. Then he went to the Jets. You had to figure the Giants had a huge edge over any other team in signing him.

CBS' Jason La Canfora reports there's a "strong likelihood" the Ravens reunite with free agent Torrey Smith.

La Canfora had previously reported Smith would likely end up with the Ravens or Eagles. Now it looks like he'll be returning to the team he departed two years ago. Smith had good chemistry with Joe Flacco. It would be a good move for both sides, though one that would likely send Mike Wallace packing.

Eh Marshall would've looked good in the black & gold

I agree, but we can still get out of Green's contract relatively easily this year, if we need to. Steelers are only hit with $3.5M in dead money this year and save $2.6M on this year's cap by letting him go. If they push the cut, after June 1st, they can save $5M and stretch out the prorated amount to next year. They still have a lot of options if he's not going to play.

Thank you Cope for refreshing many a memories. Green isn't costing. If we keep then then yes, but we can cut at optionally the best time vs his mental condition. We can wait and see for a while............

Salute the nation

Gnats improved a ton, with that signing. As long as Eli knows what colored jersey to throw to, they should be good.
