Draw a paycheck and barely get used why not.

Just proves he's an intelligent professional. He comes off good play and having a good attitude despite going through a rough situation. He was unflattering toward Chip, he's having the right attitude here. If he has attitude towards the Burgh people start thinking maybe it is him. Someone will probably pay more than us, but I'd love to see him back here.

BB is saying the right things to work that next deal, can't fault him for being smart.

He should be open to it.....he has a real shot at a championship on a winning team

Boykin isn't going to turn any opportunity down, but what he meant by his comments is that he will be willing to stay if the Steelers pay him the most.

I'd take him over everyone we've had last year, minus Gay.

Dittos. All the guy did was be a baller every time he was on the field. Shades plays more political bullshit than any coach I've seen.

That wasn't his intentions, it was the COACH's decision. But hay, live and let play, or not. He never made his snap count percentage so PITTSBUrGH does NOT give up a fourth. That's the positive out of this.

THIS^^^^ I hope the steelers jump right on this. Make a fair offer as Boykin knows how close we are to a championship so I think he signs to a fair offer.

Bring back the Gay Boykin cockrell trio, the jokes just write themselves

My point was that he is clearly better than everybody who started ahead of him. And yet he saw very little play this year. I didn't intend a dig at Boykin. I intended that as a criticism of our coaching staff.

He was nothing special. I just don't see what you guys see in Brandon Boykin. If they are going to spend money, spend it on a guy who may make a difference.

he is not special at all, but he's a solid contributor. Every game he saw playing time you could watch a good defensive play like a pass deflected or an open field tackle, the guy has good awareness.
We don't even know how much would he cost but he definitly is an improvement over what's on the roster currently

Going to be 6M+ a season I'd imagine. He's probably worth it though.

You mean like Cortez? Oh wait.....

The fact of the matter is Boykin only gets paid paid if teams think he can play outside CB, because he has been a slot CB and was for us as well. Having said that, I agree I'd rather have Gay and Boykin on the outside with Cockrell rotating on the outside and have Golson as your slot CB. Then you can bring in a FA and/or rookie to compete.

I love ron burgundy

I think with the right monetary circunstances,............he would love you back !!!!!! J/K

I think if Boykin is signed, that will be our "free agent" . The STEELERS ar notoriously low on signing high rated free agents. I hope they pull the trigger on him and yes USE him in actual play. If they get him to just sit him, screw that and who ever made that decision.

I don't swing that way. Besides, I met Bleeder once at a draft day tailgate and he's pretty ugly.

The Steelers have always preferred to draft their own players but with the advent of free agency and the salary cap they're always right against the cap.

IMO, it's a no-brainer to bring back Boykin.

He ain't coming back. When he was signed, you could see the excitement on his face. He was excited to be a Steeler. Then, he sat on the bench watching an inferior player (Blake) start ahead of him over, and over, and over. I just don't see him returning.

Obviously he was a guy that Colbert wanted and Tomlin didn't.

I doubt a slot corner that couldn't get on the field for half the year would warrant a $6M salary. His value is somewhere in the $2-3M range, and I take him for that!

I was thinking about 3-4M, if we could keep him in this range he'd be a great addition as he's still young and can play the slot and outside
