Good debate...

Could go either way.

If Rivers was a Steeler...would we have more than 2 Super Bowls wins?

I'd say absolutely not. Rivers has a knack for not being able to come thru in big moments

I don't know if I would say absolutely. Rivers has about the same passer rating in the playoffs that Ben does, though I will say I think Ben is definitely more clutch when everything is on the line.

Rivers has had subpar talent (compared to Ben) around him for a long time. But there's still little doubt in my mind that it's Ben. Ben when younger, could make throws on the run you rarely ever see. Rivers has always been a statue. Older Ben, he's evolved and adapted and is a pretty damn good pocket passer.

we would not have gone wrong with drafting either one of them

Depends................. Does this include the SAME coaches????? If so,.....then NO

Rivers' career would have ended in 2008 with that offensive line. Ben won a superbowl with it.

Rodgers / br*dy / both mannings as well.......................................................................... BANG

Rivers chokes in big games and playoffs.
Ben thrives.

**** Rivers

Rivers has been a media darling most of his career. The fantasy football crowd likes him because he's put up good numbers. If you take a step back away from that, you'll see that he is a god damned headcase, whiny ***** *** **** who does not have what it takes between the ears to be a champion.

Ben good at comeback wins with three SB appearances>Rivers good at spitting out children,& good fantasy league QB.

Ben is a better big game / clutch QB and has been since they were drafted. He comes through when it counts much more than he doesn't.

Ben's been a better fantasy QB for a few seasons now, too.

What is River's first name...?

EXACTLY

Exactly. To me Ben's 2008 season is the best season any QB has ever had. He played thru a separated shoulder for a month after the Eagles damn near killed him.

WHAAAA, Ben calls out his teammates, Ben is mean, Ben is a nightmare off the field, etc.

What jackholes. He's there to win games. Period. Find me a better option. Furthermore, what has Rivers done? Hasn't won jack!

I know it's already been established how crucial this little fact is, but when you really think about how dreadful they were, it's pretty astonishing Ben got through that with a trophy. I remember NFL Network analyst Jamie Dukes used to openly marvel at how Ben Roethlisberger ever won a Super Bowl with what he considered the worst OL in SB history. He was annoying, but he always gave Ben props for that.

That's the thing, Ben is one tough S.O.B.. He has already played in two eras of football and could have easily played in Bradshaws area as well.

Ben is simply not liked by the media ever since the issues with the two women in Vegas and Milledgeville,Ga.
I know he was never charged but from that point forward he was labeled negatively.
You notice he never, ever received endorsements, no commercials for any of the sports attire companys. No one will touch him! And he gets little to zero love from media.

It's all about perception, and the perception with a lot of people outside of SN (who know exactly what happened w/ those 2 incidents) is "Rapelisberger". It was cool when they showed him ripping off a mailbox with a football on Nike's "Snow Day" commercial, but besides that, I can't think of much else that's featured him. Sad, but it is what it is.

If you remember Ben's early years, the Oline was not very good. Ben was made to scramble for his life and made plays on the run better than any QB in the league. Rivers, although I really like him, plays with cement shoes on. His mobility is his major weakness. would have had to change offenses if Rivers was our QB. It would be interesting.
