Didn't see it posted on here and unnoticed by me in all the hoopla of the coming season and all the drama over our rap star soon but not soon enough to be ex star RB that Bobby Walden passed away on 8/27 at the age of 80. RIP to the oldest of the 70's Steelers and the last Steeler punter to make the pro bowl 49 yrs ago! Very sorry about his loss but damn it also feels good to reminisce about the 70's heroes after reading todays headlines about that guy that used to wear 26!

R I P Bobby.

My condolences go out to your family and friends.

One of the least storied players from the golden 70's era.

Walden had a 14-year career with the Steelers from 1964 to 1977. He was part of the Steelers' first two Super Bowl teams in the 1970's.

In 716 punts over 10 seasons, Walden's net average was 41.1 yards. I'll give a close second to Craig Colquitt from the 1980s Steelers teams.

In 2007, Walden was selected by Sports Illustrated to its all-time greatest Steelers team.

Sorry to hear that. I'm old enough to remember him playing.

Due to his punting average, Coach thinks he sucks and should have been traded for an unknown college player.

Rest in peace Mr Walden!

Condolences to all the family and friends. Blessing

Salute the nation

I’ll always remember him as steady and consistently good punter..
also they he wore number 39 and had that one bar face mask thingy going on..

RIP Bobby

I'll always remember that Bobby was not one to give any help to the young punters who were brought in to challenge him late in his career.

Walden kicked 4 years for the Vikings before becoming a Steeler in 1968.
