....and i'm freeeeeeeee....freeeeee fall'n...

This board is pure entertainment. It's cute how you guys get all emotional. At some point you guys are going to see the NFL for what it is.

Oh look.. it’s the fan who ridicules other fans for being emotional. Tell me more about how cynical and cool you are while still checking the message board, bro

Need Ben to come back and restructure because of cap.. We have what 18 or 19 free agents, Steelers have to sign Watt which will be big money. Not about how this board seems to feel about Ben.. We all know they will not get rid of Tomlin but some of what I call specialty coaches should be gone,, Line coach, receiver coach, running back coach. We suck at coverage, tackling, run blocking. Seems we should expect a lot of changes on this team.. Art should look at the collapse of this team last what five years in December and January but he seems to not look at head coach as possible reason. Tomlin will not bring in coordinators that may get more press than him so that is iffy if either are changed.

The cost of the ticket is equal to the entertainment value you receive.

Salute the nation

I don’t know that the Steelers have a choice. They’ve managed their cap by extending and restructuring contracts of players who no longer make sense to extend, restructure or pay them their contractual salary.

If you strongly believe it is fixed why watch?

I know it is manipulated but good teams and good coaches adapt.

I’ve said it many times and I continue to repeat it this team will never sniff another Super Bowl as long as Tomlin is the coach he has lost his team

I really can't see a strong case now against this statement.

When is enough enough ?

and yet, here you are, posting on message board that concerns an NFL team.

But please, impress us all about how you're soooOoOo much above the fray. . . *rolls eyes*

Enough of the restructuring. It's time to rip the scab off and take a down year to re-baseline the organization. Over the Cap is showing the Steelers at almost $22M over the cap and that is with all the free agent losses off the books. Fi the Steelers play the restructure game again with Ben they will find themselves in a 5 year hole they cannot get out of.

Nah, I would never feel as if I'm above anyone and no, I didn't watch the game. My son, who are a lot like you, texted me the score. I pop over here to watch the drama unfold is all. It really is great entertainment. :)

Nope. Reworking his contract again will put the team in a cap hole they will not recover from for at least two years, meaning ...

Steelers have to sign Watt which will be big money.

That would not be possible. Steelers can knock about $50 million off their current cap situation by moving on from Ben, Pouncey, Haden, Conner, Hilton, Dupree, Vance, Feiler, Dobbs, Ebron. That gives them the room to sign Watt, add a CB from free agency, draft Trask in the 1st, RB in the 2nd, and get OL help in the later rounds. Also the money to sign Juju. The team will be horrible on offense if they guy QB and WR and OL and TE.

If the Steelers redo Ben's contract, they are probably going to ignore drafting a QB first round - mistake. They will be forced to use their 1st round pick on a LT - mistake. Draft the best players, not out of "need." They will have no cap room at all to address a myriad of other shortcomings. No thanks.

It is going to get worse before it gets better.

And the problem is Tomlin is just a good enough coach to kind of play that "underdog mentality" without Roethlisberger to get 6-9 wins every year. There could also be huge issues at QB over the next era. Colbert could pick someone then retire, opening up Tomlin to use the excuse "I didn't pick this guy, Colbert did" (even if that's a bunch of crock).

So I see a QB after Ben that is a scapegoat until we get a new GM. Then you have ANOTHER QB after that which could be good or not.

There are just so many scenarios for how the QB situation goes down of the next decade, who the **** knows. But will it ever get bad enough Art II will fire Tomlin? Or Tomlin wants to leave?

God, I hope so. I know Colbert will eventually retire (and we might even promote Omar Kahn sooner than you think). But getting rid of Tomlin is just such a huge who knows....
