Why was he just now on waivers? Is it because they released him after the regular season ended and he had to wait for the post season to finish?
We threw away Josh Mauro who looked good in the pre-season. The Steelers cut him. Mauro was and quickly picked up by Arizona. Yet somehow Landry Jones has a roster spot? With Moore on the way out, Brown had some value to us as the #4 WR. Not a huge loss IMO.
Once we lost a WR named Leslie Brown... he was a UFA who was about 7th on the depth chart. We were stacked at WR and he was never going to be anything but depth here. He carved out a decent role on the redskins for years. Started for a bit IIRC... we had a LB named Carlos Emmons, couldn't get playing time here, totally buried by better players...... finally got a little then bolted in free agency to Philly and had a really good run down there....
Brown wasn't ever going to be a top 3 wr here barring injuries. he was at best 5th or 6th even if moore walked. he was ok as a blocker but as a wideout... eh... Losing a guy from a position of strength is not a concern... its when we lose guys like Urbik and Kuhn for dumb reasons in areas we are weak at... that's what hurts
