Hell they wiped out the coaches, then the GM anddddddd the entire scouting department.

I think they are only keeping the cat who does their contracts........

why not before? why let them choose players when they won't be part of the process?

Because scouting takes place the day the prior draft ends. The Steelers might take a couple weeks, but Colbert and the scouts will be sitting down to look at the top senior players, schedules, set up travel and who will go where, etc. They hit the ground running as soon as they can.

That is why, when they are on the clock, they don't mind getting the picks in. They have spent months, countless hours scouting these guys, and ranking them, knowing who they want and who they don't. So, if a guy they like is there, they just take him.

So, the Bills let the current group carry them through the process, fired them, and will bring in a new staff to start the process clean. It also keeps them from telling people your draft plans.

Whaley was respected here with the Steelers. Hope he lands on his feet somewhere. Don't know what he had to work with in Buffalo, but their team was hit or miss, with a lot more misses.

Article also said McDermott made all the draft decisions this past week.

Buffalo isn't exactly the model of stability since Levy left... i wouldnt feel secure there if i were the coach

Sometimes I think the STEELERS could use new "scouting" talent........

Salute the nation

Looks like the ownership there makes decisions based on posters from the Bills boards.

Looks like they aren't the only one getting a shake-up

The Bears could be next

In-fighting within Bears organization

CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports "things are not great between" Bears GM Ryan Pace and coach John Fox, and the situation "reached a nadir" in Thursday night's decision to pay a ransom for Mitchell Trubisky at No. 2 overall.

"We don't know what the hell they were doing," said one NFL executive whose team is routinely in the postseason. "It's all anyone is talking about. It's really bad between Pace and Fox. From the first pick on, we can't figure out what they were doing. Go back and look at how many small-school kids they took. People around the league are shocked. It's really bad between Pace and Fox."

La Canfora suggests the Bears are already eyeballing coaching candidates for the future, namely Northwestern's Pat Fitzgerald.
