BIG FA signings/trades

Murray is not a bad receiver. So a great runner like Murray who just destroys it between the tackles will.not be good in space, got it.

Shady was mediocre this year and his inAbility to break tackles make yards between the tackles made Kelly realize the tread on the tires are getting bare. He will struggle mightily with Buffalo. Murray has always ran the ball well his issue was staying healthy.

And what does he do?

Goes and picks up a RB who carried the ball nearly 400 times last year. hhh

We should just bring back Tate now browner is gone not much left just Chris culliver a heap of unknowns

Nice article at cbssports that says Kelly's offense is built for a decisive one cut runner like Murray much more than for a back like McCoy. McCoy also says in the article Kelly is great at getting runners in space, so much for all the mythical defenders in the box to stop Murray. Only the most ignorant of football observers don't know that Kelly spreads the defense and runs the ball.

Schemes spread defenses in college. Threats spread them in the NFL. Kelly had DeSean Jackson. Then he had Maclin. Now he has Riley Cooper and Matthews. If an NFL defense decides that they are not scared of Cooper and Matthews, then they can stack the box.

College defenses play scared. NFL defenses only play scared if you've proven you can beat them for big plays. Sam Bradford, Jordan Matthews, Riley Cooper, Zack Ertz. I'm not scared. I'm playing run first until you prove you can beat me over the top. And if Murray gets injured as has been his history, i'm sure not scared of Ryan Matthews.

Ha!

Dolphins snatch Jordan Cameron: 2 years, $15M

Dolphins signed TE Jordan Cameron, formerly of the Browns, to a two-year contract worth $15 million.

This one is official, as it was announced by the Dolphins themselves. Earlier, there were reports that Cameron had put pen to paper and re-signed with the Browns

Kelly is not the reason for McCoy's success. He did well in Reid's offense as well.

Didn't see it posted but did anyone else hear the Steelers are expected to sign DeAngelo Williams today?

I was kinda hoping for this one. Maybe not at that money though

Yeah I got the update on my phone yesterday saying how he was coming in on Friday, I like the move cause if we are signing him it has to be a pretty cheap deal. I like the fact that he is coming from a crowed backfield so he shouldn't have a problem with being a back up to Bell. I also feel for the little that we are going to need him(I hope) he still has tread left on them tires.

yeap, too expensive for the Steelers situation right now. With Spaeth kept as main backup I guess we are going for a rookie TE to groom (hopefully around 4th - 5th round)

yeah...that was a couple pages ago (not busting your ***, as I know we're on page 10)

Cowboys have agreed to a two-year deal with Darren McFadden, per multiple reports.

Ya, sign Williams so he can be injured at the beginning of the year. This is a dumb signing if they do it. It's too risky. I'd rather draft a RB in the back half of the draft. When was the last time Williams was even healthy? He missed most of the last several years.

Good points but please tell me how you will stack the box when they spread the field via formation.

You mean spread the field with a 3 WR set?. That's not new in the NFL. If you spread out your WRs, then yes that does initially spread a defense because they have to put defenders on those WRs, but that is not what is unique to Kelly's offense, it's the design of the plays that are meant to create horizontal space.

In college, you get that space easily because most defenses don't have the athletes to compete with a good offense. They play soft. They keep their safeties back. In the NFL, there are athletes on defense and if that defense is not threatened deep then they can take away the short stuff. Riley Cooper keeps a safety deep in college, but not in the NFL.

I hear what your saying and somewhat agree but you have to remember we are going to be without Bell to start the season do you want a rookie to pick up the blitz on Ben or have an experienced guy like Williams? I want one of the rookies as well but sign Williams cheap and draft a rb as well, it's not gonna hurt anything. Williams has talent and for what we need him for will be just fine, and for the record in a crowded backfield the last 3 years he as played in 6 -15 - 16 - 16 games per year. His att the last 4 years 62-201-173-155, not as hurt as we all think.

Trent Richardson comes cheap

I've been thinking about the release of Trent Richardson since I saw it this morning...

Something just isn't right - the kid was a BEAST in college and we, the fans, have yet to see it in the NFL. Here's my query - are his shortcomings due to poor offensive scheme??? IMO, what would it hurt for us to bring him in for a look-see??? His role would be clearly defined...FOR CHEAP.

Ask yourself - "how many times did Murray carry the rock last season???" - almost 300 times more than the next back in the line...but his "tread" is just fine on his tires? BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...

from what I saw this past season, Ahmad Bradshaw and his surgically repaired feet are a lot quicker to the hole than Richardson ever could be. Richardson's a guy in his ******* prime and he's out-worked and "out-quicked" by an older guy who's got bad feet. Richardson looked slower than a fullback in the carries I saw - and not just garbage time carries. Very slow, very indecisive. Browns did good to get rid of him when they did. Of course, that led to Manziel, so...

no thanks, he just doesn't have it to excel in this league, IMO. it's like he plays a half-step behind everyone else on the field.

I really don't think he would be the first to look like a beast in college and just not really have what it takes in the NFL...as Supe says slow...slow..slow...both his mind and his legs...

Rams signed DT Nick Fairley, formerly of the Lions, to a one-year, $5 million contract.

I would've gone for that

if the Rams don't have the best DL in the league right now I really don't know who does

Former Bills TE Scott Chandler is staying in AFC East, reaching agreement with Patriots, per league source. Patriots add some TE depth.
