PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) — Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is already excited for what the future of the team’s offense in the upcoming season.
He joined The Cook and Poni Show on Monday live from Steelers camp to brag a bit about his team.

“If we can stay healthy, we feel we can be a pretty good unit,” Roethlisberger said. “Guys have really bought in even more this year.”

Roethlisberger and that offense put together a very impressive first drive Friday night.

Roethlisberger said there may be more of that during the season.

“I think we are going to do it more than people anticipate,” Roethlisberger said. “It’s not going to be a spur of the moment thing. It’s going to be decided before we go into each game what we are going to do that week.”

As if this is any different than anything else this team does under a certain head coach? ;)

If that happens, TAS is going to lost his damn mind.

Well, I guess its not so secret anymore.

My thoughts exactly. why does he have to tell everybody. When the Patriots spread us out back in 2002. not one of there players, coaches or hell there media open there mouth up about it.

Well, the other teams saw it. It's on film and it worked. Safe to assume you'll see more of what works (now that ariens is gone lol).

If you practice goal line drills more than your opponent why not put this to an advantage on game day. You can cause some weird point differentials forcing the opposing coach out of his comfort zone in game management. The problem is if we fail putting Capt. Cool Shades in odd game management situations. With our WRs Bell and Heath...5 WIDE *******!!!

No ****!

He's either a genius ******* with people or about as bright as a small appliance bulb.

Turn out the lights, the party is over............ The steelers of the 70s, use to tell the other team what play they were going to run to see if they could stop them. I don't think this little insight from Ben is to alarming...........

FlUCK the cheatriots

Uh, they kinda know when you line up from the 2 that you're not kicking the FG. And if you don't think every team is practicing short yardage week in and week out, you're ******* crazy.

If we can't get 2 points more often than not with the weapons we have on offense, even telling the other team at the start of every ******* game we're going to do it, we should pack it the **** up and go home now, cause if the offense can't carry this team this year without trickery and bullshit, we're ****** fellas.

Joe

I think its a bluff. I am sure more teams are practicing 2 point plays, but when it comes to game time I doubt the attempt % for 2 point plays go up much.

I wanna see how this screws up the bookies point spreads

3 tds could now = 24 pts vs. 21

As I said in the other thread, their red zone offense has been awful for quite some time so I don't see 2 point conversions working for them all that much.
Today's edition of The Newspaper Whose Name We Dare Not Speak reports that last season the Steelers ranked 27th in goal line offense and didn't score a rushing touchdown from inside the 10 until the 11th game.

Yea, I wonder how the odds makers will set a spread in a game in which they believe one team is a 1 TD favorite? Will they set it at 6,7, or 8 points? It isn't going to make bettors very happy either they will have the same problem.

I think if Tyler Murphy makes the squad, we will see him on a couple 2-pt tries..run, pass, receive ?....Slash Jr.

Landry aint makin the 53

Vegas and the mob shoulda gave the owners more money.

Lets hope for Tebow instead, he at least won a playoff game........ducking and running ducking and running.

In all seriousness the Eagles 3rd and 4th QBs are Barkley and Tebow. If one is cut, they are both a better option than Jones. I don't mind wasting a roster spot on a 3rd QB if there is some upside potential.

I submit that Charles Barkley is a better option than Landry Jones.

Actually I think Tebow would be a good fit here IF he would play TE or H-back and just be the emergency 3rd QB. Problem is that he has it in his head that he wants to be a QB only. Say what you want but the dude's a baller and has the right attitude to be a Steeler.
