Big Ben Apologizes, Brown Takes To Twitter…

You guys are seriously delusioned if you think social media can be controlled by a team or coach....

This is the age we live in, deal with it

Rooney, Colbert need to lay the law down. Call a team meeting and spread the word. STOP FEEDING THE FIRE! The more you include Tiny Chest in any conversation you are playing his game. He should be dead to every player and TRUE follower of this football team. He did not want to be here any longer so shut him out. He'll disappear soon enough? Make him irrelevant and focus on the team and if guys like Edmunds who should be on his knees every night for where he was drafted, can't stay away from Little Chest tweets, then Tomlin needs to have a talk with him and start earning his ******* money.

This team has become a joke and they all need to keep their mouths shut about this little prick and that includes Ben. Sometimes saying nothing speaks volumes.

If you are talking about players use of social media, of course it can be controlled by the coach.

Hmmmm....really? where? there is NO POLICY in place in any league, nor can teams or coaches control it....

You will have to explain to me why? The players don't usually blurt out bullshit when they have 15 microphones in front of them. Most everyone on social media has a place of business. I bet the number of people who **** on their employer and fellow employees is pretty low.

I know guys are gonna say "let it go!" but it's pretty telling that their new, enormously-paid superstar WR isn't there for first day of OTAs:

Vic Tafur@VicTafur

Antonio Brown not out here for first day of OTAs #Raiders

I guess I would have to see all the social media posts. My understanding was that all Brown said was the words two faced. Which would have required Edmunds to know the context that everyone has interpreted as being towards Ben for speaking about the breakdown of the relationship. I mean if Brown wrote **** stain no context would Edmunds like that too??

I am not ready to call the man a liar so I have to take it in the context of what he said in response.

Benz has Edmunds pulling his like. Not explaining it away. If you have seen otherwise, what did he say exactly. I dont think Edmund's needs to be traded, but a pretty big WTF he needs to explain and apologize for.

He said something along the lines that he has never said anything bad about anyone he has played with. But yeah looks like everything is deleted.

I presume he didn't want the negativity, he seems like a upbeat person...

But doesn’t the NFL’s rule only apply to during games? The ********* locker room video should’ve been dealt with(which there was no winning considering next weeks game was the AFCCG), but other than that, I don’t think there’s anything in place restricting what they can/can’t post away from the team, much the way way that douchebag brown did all offseason.

Everything was getting quiet. LB was with the Jets, AB in Oakland. Let sleeping dogs lie. Ben should have said nothing.

That said, Urkel needs to STFU. 2nd year guy - you got no say in any of this.

Ben seemed to do this all now instead of later. While everything seemed to die down at the moment the media would have kicked it up soon enough if he didnt address it like he did.

Does this sound like a HC with a handle on the dynamics of Social Media in the Information Age?

“I got teenaged kids that are 16 and 17, so I understand that that's part of this world. It's not the world I grew up in. I'm 45. So, I'm learning to understand it, learning to do it in the appropriate ways. I think that's the discussion. I think that's the realistic discussion. Whether we're talking about young players or whether we're just talking about young people, you know, social media and the things that come with it aren't going anywhere.

"And for 45 year olds like myself it's better to understand it and understand the positive aspects of it and work to train younger people to utilize it and utilize it for good, I think that's the discussion.”

Apparently, Rooney needs to add a Timeouts Coach, a Replay Coach, and a Social Media Coach. I'm starting to think that Tomlin's primary function is to get the team to the stadium on time and there have even been issues with that.

What EXACTLY did Coach Tomlin say, 'wrong' in his statement above??? As a parent and a peer to him, age-wise, he's ABSOLUTELY CORRECT.

You're quip at having a SM Coach might not be a bad idea---if it didn't infringe on the 'freedom of speech' amendment...

I love how some say Ben shouldn't have said anything, it's easy to say when it's not your name and leadership that's being bashed and questioned all across the country. This was the absolute best time to talk, it's OTA's, if he didn't say anything at all, it would be hanging over the team all season, and he'd constantly get questions about it until he did talk. Of course some of the national media are calling him liar, blah, blah, blah.
The funny thing is Ben said the samething, that Ed Bouchette said when this story first broke, he and AB were good Thursday morning, Ben said they talked, hugged, and were fine, EXACTLY what Bouchette said, but not one national media person mentioned that, they all jumped on AB's side.
I just wished Ben would've come out and said AB is a ******* immature selfish asshat.

If AB can't accept a public apology than he can kick rocks and know that he needs to look into the mirror and be a man...

T'aint happening. little chest or is it Toney, pending on which one shows up but either will never act like a man and man up about anything. Consequences........... in his eyes are non-existant.

Salute the nation

On a parody level, he says "I think that's the discussion" 3X.within 7 sentences That aside, the phrase itself is akin to the amorphous "we need to have a conversation in this country" whenever a problem manifests over and over but nothing actually will or can be done. His stream of consciousness there does not in any way sound like a leader out in front of the curve on this pressing 2019 issue with today's athletes. Other times, he has been dismissive when asked about player tweets -- basically calling it "noise" or "elevator music" to borrow from his own lexicon. He's paid handsomely to keep small problems from becoming larger problems, and he's still in "react" mode and probably only now starting to recognize longstanding problems such as this.

It's understandable in his dad role with 2 teenagers. Not so much with players tweeting about the Pats or Facebook Live-ing from the locker room.

You know this was setup for Ben to hit that softball as easily as possible going into the season. Better to do that interview with a friendly local reporter than when the national media descends on this team to try and poke holes into its fabric. The storyline going into 2019 for the Steelers is how they adjust to life without Antonio Brown as a weapon and if Tomlin can suddenly clamp down on the public discontent inside of the locker room. With Bell and Brown gone, things should be improved. The coaching needs to improve and we need to see how these wide receivers get open so Ben can throw them the ball. It will take a committee to replace the production Brown put out for us.

Apparently, Edmunds is one of those dumb ***** that likes everything.

Ramon Foster stated: "You have to understand Terrell," Foster said, via Jim Wexell of 247Sports. "He's one of those guys who likes everyone's tweets. Seriously. He called me last night in a panic. But we all know he's a good guy and a great teammate. He didn't mean anything by it. The guys all know that."

The fact that many of you are in an uproar over a like, is why social media is a cancer. It's a frickin like, yet all the of the heart readers in here are trying to dissect his intentions by a social media like.......this is our problem in society.......an overreaction to a trivial matter

Always seems apropos when society obsesses over who said -- or now 'liked' or 'tweeted' -- what.

Ecclesiastes 7:21-22:

"Also take no heed unto all the words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee: For oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others."

The Preacher also said "all is vanity," and "nothing new under the sun."
