Bettis says Tomlin didn't have his team prepared

I dont care what Cowher did or didn't. One thing is to lose due to fluke plays and or a very talented rival, but getting punched in the teeth like that at home in the playoffs? Jax aren't jaggernauts, they should have never been close to 30 points against our D, even without Shazier. There was no urgency until too late. Bortles had time to make himself a dry martini, shaken, not stirred in almost every dropback

Cowher teams seldom blew leads. Cowher's team compiled a record of 108–1–1 in games in which they built a lead of at least eleven points.

I'm a firm believer that players and talent wins football games. If you have more talent you'll find a way to win the game.. the Jaguars had the superior defense and thier QB made less mistakes than ours did. That's pretty much the formula for a W. If Shazier played we win the game.. if Ben doesn't throw a pick/fumbles we win the game. If the defense stopped them at any point in the 4th quarter we win the game. It's talent on the field and the way you play.. moving on.

San Diego is probably the only playoff loss under Cowher where the steelers were clearly better and should have won. Tomlin loses fairly often to inferior opponents.

Yep, and with a hall of fame QB for 12 seasons. He has a chance to redeem himself next season, let's see what he does to fix the defense.

Coaching should also be included. It can also be argued if we make better coaching decisions on 4th and inches and onside kicks, we win the game even with the talent we had.

Yep. Talent wins games at the high school and college levels. That's why you see the top teams win in blowouts every week. Once you get to to the NFL, the talent separation isn't that great between teams and coaching makes a difference.

It's fair to say Tomlin wasn't prepared, Ben wasn't prepared (throwing early pick), Haley wasn't prepared (dumbass 4th & 1 calls), Keith Butler wasn't prepared (giving up 45 friggin pts?), the D-line wasn't prepared, the entire defense wasn't prepared and so on.

Time to put this game behind us and move on.
No because when you forget about it. History tends to repeat it self we need to keep it fresh in there minds
Yeah people bitched about Cowher, but not sure that many wanted him gone. Once it seemed like he wasn't into it anymore yeah, but everyone wanted him back once we drafted Ben.

We didn't constantly play like **** or make **** QBs look like Montana under Cowher either.

I'm not in the fire Tomlin camp either, no way, but I think he needs to get his **** straight, that's what's holding us back right now.
We can quantify what Tomlin has done by saying well look what happened under Cowher, but Cowher didn't have a HOF QB either. Then why is it the worse thing to say Tomlin won with Cowhers players?

Is there one offensive player from the Jags that would start on our team? That O put up 45 on us, the most ever in the playoffs vs a Steelers team I believe. Then it comes out after, that Tomlin has been calling the defense and running the meetings, anyone with a brain could see he's been doing that for a few seasons now, but it was reported by Ed who wouldn't make that up.
We're sitting here talking about needing ILBS, Safeties, etc, but maybe our coach needs to quit being so damn stubborn and actually game plan to attack a teams weaknesses instead of "we do what we do"

The bottom line is this defense needs to be changed we need to get some good pass rushes and switch to a 4 / 3 defense the 3 /4 does not work anymore. And that's just the truth

Not getting how you can hold that opinion while talking about the Jax game. We had way more talent on the field and we lost. There goes the talent theory. The superior defense of Jax allowed 42 points, ours allowed 38. There goes the defense theory. Ben had 5 TDs and one INT. Bortles had one TD. Their QB play did not win them the game.

I'm sure they will use some high draft picks on LB's and DB's since it's worked so well before. :jagoff:

San Diego? Stan Humphreys?

Couldn't manage to score more than a FG against NE in 96.

Cowher decided to stop running Jerome against Denver and put the ball in Kordell hands when we were winning.

Cowher best Hoodie in the playoffs.

We have Steeler royalty questioning Tomlin.

Enough already. It clear he’s holding the team back. Fire him already.

I posted it before. Tomlin beat hoodie and brady once. Cowher........once.

Steelers have been the *s ***** for way longer than Tomlin has been here.

The common thread would be LeBeau's 3-4 zone blitz defense that we still run even though LeBeau has been gone for a couple years. Well, that and the Pats***** cheating.

Keith Butler came from Cleveland in 2003. Since he has been here we have beaten the cheats 3 times. 3 wins in 14 years.

And obviously none of those 3 wins were in the playoffs when it mattered most. The win in 2008 was the year Br*dy was on IR.

BUT the fact remains.....................WHO is the BOSS?????????? Who is responsible for that preparation of the team......pretty clear.!!

Salute the nation

And now Bell is saying guys weren't ready and were over looking the Jags.
Another ******** RB like Mendenhall. One more year and Connor will be our #1 guy.

Uh, no. Not like mendenhall at all. Good pigeon-hole attempt, though. Connor isnt even close to being in bell's neighborhood
