Berry out -Colquitt in

If Dustin performs well he may get a 2 year extension. Plus they have Whitson on the PS. Writers said he’s got a big leg, but he’s young and needs to work on his touch.

Dustin is better but older. We are better off drafting a young punter, ya know the guy I liked made the pro bowl and has an all-time leg and the Steelers could have had him for cheap for 5 year.

As for Waitman ( I think that is who you were referring to when you type in Whitson ), I can not recall a practice squad spot being given to a punter. His college stats are not impressive, and with Covid-19 being every present, Tomlin gave a PS spot to a punter?

Plenty of spots this year on the PS, no big deal if a punter gets one of them.

If Waitman was any good, he'd have the job or another team would pick him up. I never saw a PS spot go to a punter. It's stupid. I'd rather develop another player. Must have been Tomlin's call.

I read somewhere a while back that players signed from other team PS or feet on the street FA during the season must pass Covid protocols which take two tests - so two days at least. If your punter fails covid test or gets hurt on friday, you can't get another punter in by Sunday. Unless you have someone else on the roster that can emergency punt, you need to have a punter on your own teams PS. That said, what I don't see are Place Kickers which would fall in the same category of single threaded players. And, I would think it is harder to find an emergency place kicker than punter.

Another reason - you may need a punter for practice to keep the Old Guy's "pitch count" down during the season.

In the end, the PS is expanded and most PS guys never make the 53 with teams. Certainly isn't the end of the world to keep the guy on the PS.

I realize it’s only two games so far but from what I’ve seen not much of an upgrade over Berry at this point.

I think their stat were very similar except the inside the twenty. YOU won't see a spike in further distance between the two as Colquit is what he is at this stage in career. One thing might help and that's if he would drink a truck load of TB12, then he'd be like a lizard tail, grow a whole new leg.

I've been a tad disappointed in Colquit. A few years ago he would have been a good upgrade. Let's hope he doesn't have those shanks that Berry did.

Berry always made me nervous, because he could give you 25 yards at any time. He was pretty average HIS WHOLE CAREER...AWFUL at crucial times in the game

So far I still see Berry out there..They are the same...

Are you guys sure Berry hasnt just switched uni numbers and now kicks with his other leg...

GREAT point as some here aren't quite as absorbent (pun intended)
