The #Steelers have signed punter Dustin Colquitt and released Jordan Berry.

Colquitt, son of former Steelers punter Craig Colquitt (1978-81, 1983-84), served as the Kansas City Chiefs’ punter for the past 15 seasons. (Per Missy Matthews)

If I recall correctly from when I looked last year, Berry's stats were solidly mid-pack so he wasn't great and he wasn't bad. He's a lot younger than Colquitt though.
 
I sure wasn't impressed with Berry .last year.
 
should od drafted branden mann or Joseph Charlton or brought in Marquette King who still hasa cannon leg

Berry has sucked for years. Tomlin blew it; he could have kept Matt Wile, who outplayed Berry in the pre-season, but cut him. Like you said, this is an upgrade.


I took a look at the captain's this year. I would have given then special teams captain to Boswell, not Dangerfield.

You use Wile??? A guy that was a practice Squad punter and played 4 games for 2 teams last year. Neither wanted him, and he didn't even make Detroit's practice squad this year. You really don't understand how to argue punters, do you?

How much do you get paid for your decisions with the team???
 
Berry has a great leg but inconsistent. I like this move. Not a sexy move but good move. I like Colquitt’s consistency to flip the field. How I’ll miss the Berry 28 yard shanks.

If Dustin performs well he may get a 2 year extension. Plus they have Whitson on the PS. Writers said he’s got a big leg, but he’s young and needs to work on his touch.
