Bens show

I thought it was a mistake to keep Dobbs over Landry. It's crazy to not have a backup with starting experience. I wonder if it was Tomlin's decision to keep Dobbs and maybe he wanted to play him to prove he was right to keep him.

I think the steelers win that game with Landry.

I think Landry is available if that is what you are hinting at..... Dobbs did NOT lose that game, there where bigger claims to that than Dobbs.

Salute the nation

Dobbs didn't get much of a shot to win. They were very conservative. Brown dropping a pass didn't help either. I think they were just trying to sit on the lead..

I understand what Tomlin was thinking with Ben. He just can't act on those thoughts. If you can save your HOF QB a few hits against a 2 win team yea why not. If Dobbs comes in and just holds the lead that gives Ben a few series off or even the rest of the game off if the Raiders turn back into a pumpkin after midnight. I get it... you just can't do it. Just like all of us guys have wanted to go up to a girl and kiss them (or other things). But you can't do that ****.

The steelers needed that game. It's a conference game and you have to win it. When the QB says I'm good put me in chief then you put him in. You have to think more about the game at hand rather than the game next week. This had as much to do with NE as it did with Ben. He knew the pats*** had lost and that next week is going to be a dog fight if the Steelers have any chance.

I hope this isn't a Dobbs thing. If it is he should be escorted out of the building. But I think it is probably a NE thing.

Correct. Tomlin pulled the same kind of **** last year in the playoffs, taking his opponent for granted, when he had the team looking past Jacksonville ahead to the Patriots.

Bottom line is, he could have thought about keeping Ben out for a moment, but it wasn't like the Steelers were up by two or more scores and dominating -- it was a 4-point game. In that situation, you have to get your best player on the field if he is medically cleared.

We're not dealing with a master of quarterback substitutions here. Remember, way back in 2011 in a game against San Francisco, this is the same ******** who had Ben out there throwing passes on a bad ankle when they were losing 20-3 with 2 minutes left in the game, and had the ball on their own 12 yard line with no timeouts left.
