Ben's Records Tonight against the Colts

typical of you to be a whiny **** after an excellent offensive game...continue crying about a QB who is way better than you want to give him credit for....and come here bitching about everything instead of taking a few minutes out of you hatred and just enjoying a win....

Ben>>>Luck
Ben>>>Marsha (who also led his team to a 51 point performance today).
Ben>>>haters.

Namath was 15-28 for 497 and 6 TDs against the Colts in 1972, 33 yards a completion, best game ever. In Johny Unitas's last great game he was 26-45 for 376 and 2 TDs

And you keep mentioning Hall of Fame QBs in order to prove some imaginary point. There's nothing, absolutely nothing, you can say that would take away from THIS game that Ben had today.

No one wants to take anything away from ben , it was the greatest passing game in Steeler history. I responded to another poster saying it was the 2nd greatest passing game in NFL, it wasn't not even close. Throwing for 497 yards n only 15 completions with 6 TDs in 1972 dwarfs anything done in todays watered down pass friendly NFL.

What a piece of **** you are calling someone a **** because he is smarter than you and points out Ben's faults.

For the record Ben us about to miss the playoffs for the 3rd straight year, won't have won a playoff game in 5 years, has always been mediocre scoring points and is awful in the red zone but hey he has thrown for 500 yards twice, big ******* deal. Losing to the Bucs, Clowns, Raiders, Titans, etc in the last 2 years is way more typical of his play than passing records which he has very few.

you haven't proven to be smarter than anyone here....and I called you a **** because you are here crying about Ben not being great...after one of the greatest games by any QB....not the greatest, but ONE of the greatest.....you say no one wants to take anything away from Ben...yet here you are posting all sorts of **** tonight taking away from Ben....so what does that make you???

He is a great QB, he is not elite and never will be, elite QBs can carry a team, Ben can't and nothing you say can change the fact he is a mediocre scorer of points his entire career. Moderator my *** you are a ******* ****. We are in 3rd place in our division because Ben **** the bed against the Clowns , Ravens and Bucs and **** the bed against a bad Jags team but hey he had a career day today, whoopty doo.

Ben has a better career comp% than Tom Brady, and their passer ratings are almost the same.

This quote look like I am denigrating Ben's night you dumb moderator ****?

do I REALLY need to go find all your quotes tonight where you either say others are better or cry about poor games Ben has had in the past? someone please get this guy a tampon

JJ you're just so sad...

I can just imagine your frustration as the tears run down your face as the highlights run over and over.

It must be killing you. Just killing you.

I'm sorry, but Ben pissed on Namath's game you are referring to. . . only QB to throw over 500 yards twice. Namath can't say that. Brady can't, Manning can't, Favre can't, Montana can't, etc.

40/49, 522 yards, 6 TDs, 0 INTs was a thing of beauty. There's no comparison.

Nice knowin' ya.

I responded to the **** who called me a **** unprovoked. For a moderator he is a thin skinned piece if **** who can't talk football without getting personal when he is being bested in an argument.

Really, Namath averaged 33 yards per completion over 17 yards per attempt while Ben averaged 13 yards per completion and less than 11 per attempt. Namath did it when 200 yards was a huge passing day,Namath's game dwarfs Ben's.

Archer and Bryant with wide open drops.

Heath with a contested drop.

This was an amazing game by Ben. My buddy (who is a Ravens fan) said statistically, this is the sickest game by a QB ever. Better than Manning and Foles 7TD performances in terms of completion percentage and total body of work through 4 quarters.

I suspect that Toddster told Ben before the game that if they didn't win he'd get fired and they'd hire Whisenhunt back.

No one can deny this was Ben and the Steelers offense at their best. Seems like both Ben and Hailey were on the same page for a change with great play calling. I'll take that all day, good job Big Ben!

Actually the safe bet for job security on the 4th and 1 for Todd where Ben got his 6th TD was to run a QB sneak then let the chips fall where they may as far as 3 or 7 being the result. Confirmation from Wolf on the sideline is that Haley specifically called that play to get Ben the record, says Ben and Todd were all winks and smiles.

The Bryant drop didn't cost him the record but he would have been right there. I was real happy with Bryant game though. It is important to remember that a performance like this is about a lot of things including playing a tough opponent that you can't put away. 500 yards shouldn't have been necessary. The game should have been over halfway through the third and they should have enough running the ball at that point.

Wait, what ... ?

A field goal makes it a 13-point lead. That is not a lead a team is likely to lose, but it is possible. A 17-point lead, and the game is done.

Further, teams throughout the NFL - all of them - look for defensive tendencies on 3rd and short and 4th and short. If the offensive coordinator finds that the defense sells out for the run, then the offensive coordinator will design a play-action toss to the TE.

Every good team does this - all of them. Simply running up the gut against an 8-man front is not the way to go. The point is to WIN THE GAME, and taking advantage of the Colts' defense is the best option. The fact that Heath was un-freaking-covered shows that the call was 100% correct.

4th and 1....you can still get the first with the high percentage play and later score a TD by running(which means no record for Ben). What are you going on about?

Your stupid criticism of the play call.

It took advantage of the defense. It found a wide open Miller for a TD.

Running against an 8-man front has a substantial chance of failure. We know this from the dozens of times teams in the NFL failed to gain a yard against stacked defensive fronts on 3rd and 4th and short today, and every other week. The success rate for the play-action pass to the TE on that play is freaking large.

It had nothing to do with "getting Ben a record." It had to do with getting a TD.

And hey, guess what, it worked. Miller was wide freaking open.
