Something just dawned on me, and something to keep in mind for next off-season.

IF, big if, IF Mason shows he can be a #1 QB in the NFL, like he can be the future, what of Big Ben?

Well, let's see..............
Who do we know that's a real good pal of Ben's?
Who's a head coach of an NFL team?
That has a garbage QB but a pretty sweet receiving corps?
That has spoken highly of Ben every given chance, and that Ben has spoken highly of ever since he was unceremoniously retired from our team.
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?????????????????????????????

Not sure the Steelers WOULD do this deal, but I have a hard time seeing Ben accepting a backup role IF Mason proves he can ball.
This may be logical all ways around, and maybe, just maybe, the way we get back into the 1st round in next year's draft.
I know it's a lot of hypotheticals and what ifs, but something to keep in the back of our minds going forward.

That's just it. They want to much, and we already gave our 1st away. We got a 3rd for maybe the best receiver in football.Finding a player or two to move could be accomplished.

The point is, Steelers don't have the assets. They made the move for Fitz. More trades are unlikely. Blockbuster trade is darn near impossible.

as to the 3rd for Brown - that is water over the dam. They spun that to get Bush.

Ben has done so much for this organization. I would hate to see him play out a year or two in another uniform. If Mason proves to be a franchise qb. I am glad it is not my decision what to do with ben

I for one would throwup if I saw Ben in another uniform. I honestly can't believe some of you that are willing to send Ben packing for a ******* draft pick, he has been the heart and sole of this team since he got here. Remember this; Ben is the only ******* reason we weren't the browns or the the Bengals ten years ago.

Ya I get it let's let Tomlin hang around for ******* ever but deal away the entire reason Tomlin never had a losing season.for the record I don't give a **** if Ben comes back and goes 0 and 16 he is the one person that has earned it. I get nothing but the pleasure of watching the Steelers, I get no money nor do I have any input. I watch for the sheer enjoyment and if Ben is in another uniform there will be no enjoyment. He has earned the right to go out on any terms he wants period.

I'm thinking the trade value for a 38 year old QB coming off elbow surgery won't be too high, and I doubt the Steelers would trade him anyway.

He'll get to play out his deal here or choose where he goes, or retire if he should see fit.
