Ben's Arm

To big of a game, if Browns lose tonight, we win the division by beating Cincy, then week 17 basically becomes meaningless so we can rest alot of guys then like a bye week.

No the Bills are now on our tail for the # 2 seed, unless they lose in Denver or NE.

I'm not overly concerned with the #2 or #3 seed now there's no bye for the #2 seed, hell Baltimore might sneak in at 7 now, so the 3 seed might be better to get indy or Cleveland

I'd give Ben off, of the 3 30+guys on the Oline, I'd give as many them that week off, that's it on O, and we can't afford any more injuries there. Defense, I'd rest as many as possible.
Problem is you aren't helping a struggling offense get cohesive giving them time off. I get the premise that this team is tired. They played a **** load in a short time. **** you Goodell. Ben already gets Wednesday off and had a week off due to injury. They have to sharpen that sword somehow not sure significant time off at this point is the answer.

agreed, but Ben and those 3 Olinemen need to be healthy, the lack of reps for one week won't hurt them, the WR's can still drop passes from Mason.

Ben's arm is fine. I think Ben is exhausted from doing everything for this team. According to the media and a lot of fans, he makes all the OC calls and basically runs the team.

That leads me to.. can we save money next season by getting rid of Tomlin and Fichtner since Ben is the HC and OC. Ben will also need to address Juju's pregame antics.

If they do that they have to do it now not later.

once the division is locked up, I'm fine with that, if we do absolutely anything in the playoffs we are going to have to be as healthy as possible especially Ben.

I think his arm his fine, but his legs are another issue.

I've heard the likes of Rich Gannon and Dan Marino comment on how toward the end of their careers it was their weakening legs, not their arms, that began to affect their accuracy, particularly on deeper throws.

They also never have Ben dropping back from under center anymore, which limits the running game, and may be another sign that his legs are shot.

Bingo. BR is playing hurt and it's his knees, IMO. His arm is sound. But it looks like he's compensating when he throws. I thought on the second TD drive, when he was flushed from the pocket and moved to the right that he could run it it from 5 yards out....but the threw incomplete. He injured his knew weeks ago, and the Offense has been in the tank since.

Ben's arm is fine. A few weeks ago he was zinging the ball all over the field. I think he intentionally took some heat off balls this week because all of his receivers struggle catching the fastball. All of them.

I agree the legs are an issue. He's so worried about being sacked we throw every ball short. He doesn't step into deep balls and just about every pass falls short. The Steelers can still win with Ben, but they can't with his physical limitations right now. They've limited themselves too much on offense with absolutely zero threats besides the short passing game and the occasional mid-range pass. A strong ground game that supported the passing game was the way to go as the QB aged. They aren't built this way. They don't have the mindset to do this and it's not going to change between now and the end of the season. We are what we are and it's going to result in a big disappointment.

I don't think his arm is fine and to me its perfectly understandable. He's pushing 40, he had reconstructive surgery on his throwing elbow last year, he's tossing 50 passes/game cause we can't run the ball to save our lives. His long ball has been off all year and that under throw to JW was awful. I don't know that there's an answer at this point of the season. We are who we are not who we hoped we were.

That throw to JW wasn't his arm, it was his feet and the fact the OL can't block for ****. He had a defender right at his feet and couldn't step into it.

Bottom line is this: Ben is the QB & we have struggled ALL ******* YEAR OFFENSIVELY...

The offense has not been in sync all year....First QTR's have looked like a replay from the previous 11 games...The whole SN freaks out in the first quarter of games, because it is multiple 3 and outs, punt, punt, punt....Our offense HAS NOT DONE ****. We all knew we were living on borrowed time here...

Ben is responsible as the captain of the the offense...Big Ben needs to start playing big & he needs to fix his end or we are one and done

Until he can teleport and tape the ball to the WR's hands we're going to struggle, we haven't struggled all year. Ben isn't what he once was, but we can win with him, if the Wr's just catch the ball, we beat Washington.

The biggest issue on this team is the Oline, period.

You know what, Ben HAS NOT BEEN SUPER ACCURATE EITHER...So we got a QB who is still coming back from elbow surgery and clearly off, WR's who run without the securing the ball, An Oline that can't create a hole, & RB's who run straight to the hole the OL HAS NOT CREATED....

Big fail

Ben has been pretty damn accurate for the majority of the season. The WRs need to move their body and hands a little, you can't expect every ball to be delivered with in between their numbers.

You don't win 11 straight games being inaccurate. He is dealing with leg and WR drop issues. He might be nearing the end too. But he is light years ahead of any other QB on the roster. We saw first hand that last year.

He's been surgical much of the season (minus the long ball, obviously, if you will).

The rare times we block ok for the RB's they miss the running lanes, like Conner did on that short yardage run, he had a gapping lane to the left, totally missed it and ran into the back of our Olinemen and barley picked up the one yard for a first.
I saw that. Had he bounced left he had lots of room. Probably gets 5 or 6 yards easy.

I also thought Ben was going to run that TD in. In fact, I was worried he was going to get a flag for throwing beyond the L.O.S.

This team is just so disorganized and lethargic. I have concerns about them winning another game this season, including the Bengals.

The low end of drops I've seen listed is 27, the high end 34. I think they had three drops last night. Factor in 30 drops and Ben would be completing 72% of his passes on the season, by far the highest of his career.

There were at least 4 drops last night, Dionte 2, Ebron 1, Claypool had that long pass early go right throw his hands.

Looks like Ben's arm is fine. There have been drops cause he puts too much zip on it.
I have no idea why they are not pushing the ball down the field. Claypool had 10 TDs in 10 games and led the league at one point in DPI.
I think (starting in Baltimore game) the drops created a negative snowball effect. And the play calling has been conservative to get them (Ben and WRs) back on track. But it has backfired.
