Had an awesome interview with Benny Snell at the Rooney Complex and wanted to share the article. I've talked to him three times now since he arrived in town, and each time was a joy. If he produces on the field, I guarantee he'll become one of the best-selling jerseys in town. He is just a SUPER likable kid. Smiling all the time like Hines Wards. Seems to genuinely embrace the city and the team already. Humble. Everything a Steelers fan wants.

Hunter, excellent write up and the end video is a GREAT touch to show his personality. Thanks for the article. Looking forward to Snell making a difference and the coaching staff stepping up to make a difference in how these running backs are utilized.

Appreciate that! I knew I had to work in some video so you could all see what I was talking about vs. just saying it haha He's such a likable guy. Easyyyyy to root for.

I think the interesting aspect of the RB room is how the roles are to be defined. None of the players seem to import a level of ego that will make it a problem for the coaching staff. Randy will probably be a mad scientist creating formations and pre-snap movements with all these multiple pieces he has.

I'm getting that vibe from ALL positions. Seems this team might be getting the "Team" first mojo going. And great write up Hunter. Many thanks.

Hunter ,, good stuff. Not complaining,, but when I play that video I can barely hear him speaking.. my computer controls are all turned up .. so idk. Just letting you know.

I liked how productive he was in college, and to boot a bunch of us loved a video clip that showed him carrying like 4 to 5 defenders into the end zone. I think the Steelers are doing a good job of getting RBs that can have a special niche on the team. With Snell yeah I wouldn't be surprised if he carves out a short yardage / end zone role earlier than later. Either or it is always welcomed to see an energetic passionate personality. And if that passion can transfer to the field, even better.

Hunter I appreciate the up close look at Snell much appreciated......

My pleasure, slash! Definitely looking forward to tracking his progress throughout training camp.

I heard it fine, might need to check all your volume settings...

Thanks for the heads up! Is anybody else having this issue? It seems plenty loud on my end, both in the DKPS app and in my browser, but I'd love a third opinion so we can diagnose if something is wrong.

Great article. You are right. He isn't paid to be a genuinely nice guy. He is paid to produce. However, having coached a lot, if your best players are dicks it doesn't help. Having good people on your team helps. If they are great players it helps more.

thanbks for sharing Hunter, Snell definitely has that personality and attitude of wanting to go eat the world, especifically the NFL world. I'm betting he will be an overachiever throughout his career thanks to effort and love for the game

Love it! With that look and big smile, attitude,he has a chance to take the fans by storm. Obviously we need to see production, but by all accounts he can bring it. Let’s give some props to the FO for drafting what seems to be a great person, with positivity and energy.

Volume is good on my end too !!!!

He's got to "bring it" which I think he is fully capable of. It's nice he has the charm to go with it, something teams need and want, along with the fans as well.

Excellent article, Hunter! Keep 'em coming, young man...

I like Benny quick feet. Reminds me of a young Bettis...

If Benny's nearly as good as his Great Uncle was with Joe Namath, LOOK OUT!
Football's all in the family for Kentucky's Benny Snell Jr.His father played at Ohio Northern and was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 1998. His great uncle, Matt Snell, played parts of nine seasons with the New York Jets, starring in the upset over the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III.

Great write up and insight into the kid's personality and eagerness to put in the work. Seemed like a baller at UK.

It seems like so many seasons in the '10s have ended with the team's RBs dinged up or missing time. There's no reason why Snell shouldn't get some run this year and the HC has a golden opportunity to finally show some creativity and forethought with the usage.

He'd do well to follow the "load management" doctrine of the NBA and what we just saw with getting Kawhi ready for the postseason.
