Ben vs. Duck: Can Hodges really take Steelers to Super Bowl?

Green was the starter (unquestioned even). It being their first year has nothing to do with it. At the time, Vermeil thought Green was the better option... and better QB. Warner, like Duck, just needed a shot to show what he could do. Yep, he aired it out more ... to a group of receivers that did NOT include practice squad players, a second year player trying to grow into a role and a rookie

That Rams team was STACKED with HOF caliber players. Faulk at RB. Holt, Bruce, Hakim, and Proehl?? For **** sake, I wish Duck had that caliber of player to play with. Would be the equivelant of Duck having Bell, AB, JuJu, DJ, and Washington.

Look, the problem isn't the QB. Well in Rudolph's case it is, but the OC is the one calling the shots and holding this offense back. Duck can run the full offense. I think he would run it well, if given the opportunity. But, they choose to turtle and try to capitalize on takeaways. Just open the playbook. I strongly dislike Randy Fichtner.

signed off on by Tomlin, if Tomlin wanted the offense opened up, it would be. Fichtner may be calling the conservative offense, but it's because that's what Tomlin wants.

Only Steelers fans would want to cut a future all of fame QB with two SB rings for a UDFA that couldn't beat out Mason Rudolph.

I agree in part. Cutting Ben is just ridiculous. But, Rudolph was drafted to be the heir apparent to Ben. He also looked good in the preseason and before the concussion. No way he was beating out Rudolph as an I drafted free agent. He was lucky to make the team.

Yet he did beat him out....

Is there a reason these guys even post on this board. They are pom pom wavers at best.

Well I hope you got the answer to your question.

I remember way back when everyone was excited about having real backup qbs this year.....Our QBs really **** the bed when the lights came on
