http://steelerswire.usatoday.com/20...er-tells-martavis-bryant-not-to-flip-anymore/

"The athletic skill needed by Martavis Bryant to make his 131-yard touchdown run against the Cardinals out-weighed the skill needed to flip into the end zone at the end of it.
And his quarterback told him to knock it off.

Post Gazette columnist Ron Cook spoke with Ben Roethlisberger after Sunday’s game, and shared what he told Bryant when the injured passer greeted the second-year phenom on the sideline.

“I told him how proud I was of him to step up and make that big play,” Roethlisberger said, according to Cook. “Then I told him, ‘Don’t ever flip in the end zone again or I’ll … nothing good is going to come from that.’ ”

Bryant conceded, also through Cook, that he wasn’t going to repeat his tilting flip again.

It would have been a shame for Bryant to have injured himself after breaking so many hips and ankles on his run. Even worse would be to lose Bryant again, after having played five games without him this season.

Rest assured, his spontaneous form of dangerous, acrobatic celebration won’t be repeated, or at the very least, odds of him flipping into the end zone again are lower than him making such a spectacular run after the catch.

Odds of him doing something similar to what he did overall against the Cardinals — six catches, 137 yards, two touchdowns — are fairly decent. In 11 regular season games, Bryant has 32 catches for 686 yards. That’s 21.4 yards a catch, and he’s caught 10 touchdown passes.

He’s also likely to be the only Steelers’ receiver who reaches the 100-yard mark without Roethlisberger under center.

One can understand Ben’s insistence that Bryant protect himself at all costs."

So Ben is calling plays that are winning us games and now disciplining players...should we just let Ben be a player/coach?

When did the NFL start using Canadian fields?

I just watched a replay, which was the 1st time I've seen that TD. The flip was stupid and not visually appealing. I would give him a 3. It also looks like he could use some work on carrying the ball in his outside arm away from the defenders.

**** that...if Bryant is making game changing plays and takin em to the house he can flip every game---cartwheel thru the tunnel. LeVeon did a couple games ago and nobody chastised him about it.

If he keeps doing what he did on Sunday I don't care how he holds the damn ball. :)

Most of the fan base did, too. Right after he did it.

AB started that ****, I guess the first down gasconades are just not enough. Now they all want to mimic it..silly boys, tricks are for kids.

What ever happened to the days of SCORING, HANDING THE BALL BACK, then Walking to side lines.............. This is the new NFL

Salute the nation

When I saw the highlight my first thought was, "Dude's going to injure himself again..."

Get yur *** out there Ben, then you can start dictating play

Sadly, the days of " Act like you have been there before" are about as rare as snow in Florida. Thing that really gets me is the total "strutting" like you done something, as you are getting slaughtered. Come on now. You are gonna risk you career doing clownish stuff. It only requires a little common sense to figure it out. I guess youth and common sense are a rare combination.

Stop that hot dog bullshit! Go ******* win something. Hot dog at the big party after. That goes for AB too. Spike the damn ball and get on with it.

Walter Payton, Berry Sanders are two that i think of. How is adrian peterson about this "celebrate" stuff? Are there any current players that may fall into this catagory? THOUGHTS?????..................

Salute the nation

The Team Captain has spoken....heed the advice and move on.

Ease up on the guy. Ben got on him. Great leadership by Ben. Hopefully the rest of the team follows suit. I support our players thick and thin. But the constant dancing and first down celebrations need to be minimized

It isn't a big deal until it is a big deal....

One significant injury and your like OH ****.

Injuries happen enough without helping them along..........

I think Megatron is another guy that just hands the ball to a ref. He's a pretty rare breed: elite WR that appears to have no diva in him.
