We had a chance to win.....but 3 INTs reduce your chances regardless of who you are. I don't believe for a second that Cincinnati is a better football team. Our defense held them out all game save for the second to last drive.

But Ben.....damn, look so sharp early then just faded as the game went forward.........high on a lot of his throws and that's to be expected on a few but those throws in double coverage (Bryant and Brown) and the ill-advised throw on the pick on the sideline is just maddening.

We expect Vick and Landry to manage games and not make costly mistakes. And then our franchise quarterback returns and throws 3 ?

I expect much much better from Ben. I realize Bells injury slightly changes things but with us having to rely more on Ben now, those INTs are unacceptable.

Lets hope this **** is just rust and timing because anymore 2/3 INT games and we are NOT making the postseason.

We NEED you to be better Ben. You HAVE to play better than this going forward.

It's entertainment.

You are not the team, the team is not you. You don't need Ben Roethlisberger to do anything. All you need to do is enjoy your Sunday football game and if it's causing you frustration, switch to a movie or something else.

The NFL is not what it used to be. The league doesn't deserve your undying loyalty anymore. Goodell and his cronies have turned football into infotainment. Don't let this **** eat you up for a single minute. Now Roller Derby! That ****'s fun to watch. Those gals work their ***** off. If you're going to follow a sport fanatically, follow Roller Derby.

If ever a sport was meant to be followed casually in this day and age, Goodell has made that sport modern professional football.

It seems as though every damn time this guy comes back from an injury he plays horrible. Its a shame since the defense played their hearts out and deserved better and should have gotten the win but only being able to generate 10 points in this so called high powered offense and two critical interceptions within the last four minutes will kill you against a good opponent like the Bengals or for that matter any team in the NFL. Stupid holding penalties on the OL sure as hell didn't help either. Very poor offensive performance by Ben and his receivers other than Miller.

Wig, there's a lot of truth in what you're saying. The game just doesn't feel right to me any longer. Guys come and go to the highest bidder, players don't respect coaches any longer, too many silly damn rules have been put in place. The games almost seem choreographed. Entertainment at its finest.

I'm just saying, give the Bengals their due.

They're 7-0. I hate their fans as much as anybody. But the team is doing very well. Undoubtedly they'll hit a wall at some point, but apparently Pittsburgh is not that wall.

yeah the refs picking up the interference flag.........questionable ball spotting, they damn sure gave the Bengals every chance to stay in the game.

Ben wasn't great. Everyone has a job to do, including the coaching staff. There were **** ups all around, but I can't help but think if we weren't so collectively ******* stupid we win that game.

Ben wasn't great! Ben wasn't good! He failed to deliver when we needed him the most to deliver. Big fan of the guy but looked anything but a franchise QB to me.

they play them again they will win that game

I said it earlier, makes for a more compelling spectacle if the game is close.

Even on that first drive he was a bit off... his plant isn't right yet... he should have been kept out till it wasn't affecting his motion... Coaches want to win now and never take a long term view... Footwork, for a QB, is a significant part of their success... all year ben has thrown effectively into coverage... now he is a tad off and it severely hinders us

I'm not sure why you felt compelled to go off on an anti-NFL rant in this particularly thread.

As for Roethlisberger, he clearly was not as close to 100% as we had thought/hoped. He started out sharp, but after a series or two, the knee was clearly starting to affect him, and his accuracy went as a result.

For as much as he struggled, the Steelers still win the game, if Bryanf catches that ball he watched go right through his arms in the endzone.

Eh I think Wig is trying to say is we shouldn't make the Steelers losing an end of the world type meltdown. I enjoy getting a chance to watch the Steelers/Pens/UGA dawgs win or lose. Them losing isnt going to put me in a bad mood however seeing as I have no control over the game. Just enjoy the game and learn to take a chill pill. We all support and want our Steelers to win but sometimes they dont

Pittsburgh had multiple opportunties to win the game. They didnt take advantage of the turnover by Blake(awesome field position)
The blocked field goal
The last possession of the game. Ben let that go in a hurry

All Ben had to do was manage the game in the 4th. We had the lead late and even a FG puts us u by 7. No need to be a gunslinger.

and all Tomlin had to do is save some time and call a timeout before the two minute warning
and all Bryant had to do is catch, two catchable balls

Ben wasn't alone in sharing the blame..

That was a travesty of justice, but the NFL is bullshit. I lost count of the fabricated calls. hell those ******* on tv even stopped showing replays of some of the holding calls they looked so bad. I'm with wig in that it's just entertainment. Not sport. Kinda like pro wrestling. I used to get so piss mad over it. Then i was enlighten to the horseshit going on up in chowderland. I just sit and pick stuff apart now for fun. It's all i got left. They don't hit anyone and most of the games look like arena football..bleh...saints vs giants 52-49...the stats on that game are a ******* joke...**** that ****

We blew chances, but so did they (blocked FG, INT in end zone, bad snaps, etc etc)...At this point the Bengals are a better team period. You can make a million excuses and what ifs, but they are 7-0 and we are 4-4. You really cant blame the D the held a very good / hot offense to 16 points. Our offense was extremely inconsistent as it had been the last couple years. It was just a poor offensive effort w/ several blown chances. For a while it seemed neither team wanted to win the game.

One thing they have yet to face on offense is an injury to a key player.. they've gotten lucky on that end of things.

A simple "fu&@ you Ben" would have sufficed. Works for me

The play call was unnecessary on Ben's first INT. The next two were ridiculous throws, just flat out poor decisions.

Ben gave the Bungles 2 short fields where even punting would've been better.

Read the last part of Wigs thread. The game's not what it used to be.. Look deeper into what he's saying man. The game has changed so much that its just purely entertainment now and don't get caught up too much into it. None of this **** is earth shattering or going to affect mine or your life. At one time I got really bumed about losing but not anymore. Them winning or losing doesn't affect how I conduct my life or put any money in my pocket. Afterall, they're the mega millionaires, not me. Love to see them win but if they lose its certainly not the end of the world.
