Ben - Separated shoulder

Ben Roethlisberger has a separated right shoulder. MRI today. Depending on extent of damage will try to play Sunday vs. Broncos. @nflnetwork

inject some pain meds

rub some dirt on it

and go in there and play

That was my guess when he came back out. Torn rotator cuff (I've had one) and you're not coming back. Separated and they can pop that sucker back in, give you a pain shot, and you're good.

****. Can't pop a separated shoulder back in like a dislocated shoulder. Could be bad.

I was yelling yesterday when Burfect sacked Ben. His shoulder was out of joint at that moment. His right hand was glued to his belly and was carted off never moving that arm. He returns and is able to play.

It's a dislocation and they popped it in when he left the field, and he was good enough to finish. I've separated a shoulder and returned in the same game when I played football. I wasn't a QB, but it's doable. As long as no severe damage was done to his AC joint, he should be good to go next week. He may not be the same for the rest of the playoffs, but Ben is a competitor, and wants to win. He just can't afford falling on this throwing shoulder for the next couple weeks, because his weakened AC joint would lead to future dislocations.

This drastically reduces our chances Sunday...

Not good...time for Haley to earn his paycheck, and create a gameplan that keeps the Steelers close into the 4th quarter...then anything can happen, as we witnessed yesterday,

I hope you are right because I've had both and a separated shoulder is ligament damage where your collarbone meets your shoulder - AC joint. Can't pop it back in. Hurts like hell. He might have also had a dislocated shoulder and they popped that back in. Not unlikely.

Look at the shoulders post-game.

He has one extra day to recover since we played on Saturday. I think he plays unless its damaged too greatly. It changes what we can do against Denver offensively against a very good defense. They shut down the run against us and we feasted passing the ball. We will need our defense to rise to the occasion for sure.

In breaking down the view of this, you are correct sir, he has shoulders. Pretty sure he had them pre-game also. Keep up the good work O'l chap. lol

SERIOUSLY, you can't tell anything from a photo with the guy wearing a hoodie and who knows what else under neith. His body posture is out of context as we don't know what or how he is leanoing......seperated and dislocated are two different things. BOTH hurt.

Salute the nation

Depends on the severity. A mild separated shoulder only involves stretched ligaments. So if it's a lower grade Ben could actually regain full functionality of his throwing arm within a week.

If there is no extensive damage on the MRI, he will play. The problem is, since Ben's shoulder was dislocated, his AC IS strained. He has a chance of it slipping out again if he lands on it.

If I was an orthopedic surgeon, I would instruct him NOT to land on it.

Sprained AC joint is what I'm hearing with an MRI to come.

sprained AC joint = separated shoulder

separated shoulder ..not = to..dislocated shoulder
