Ben and his off the field addictions.

People change from youth to grown adult. BEN is not the same man as he was 15 years ago, are you? He has gotten closer to GOD in his path of life and that helps many a things. It also helps that he is acknowledging his faults along the way and learning by them, called MATURITY, haven't you progressed in that department in the last 15 years???

To predict a failure for BEN IN HIS AFTER FOOTBALL LIFE IS KIND OF LIKE head size analysis for you.

BEN will be fine after football life and he will work charity events ECT. He will also keep his K-9 program going as well.

I resent that comment. I was probably more mature then Ben was halfway through his NFL career when I was a teenager. I'm sure most here were too. My core values have not changed much, but I have grown, who hasn't?

Ben was close to god or flashed it by writing PFJ on his shoes as a rookie. Don't lecture me about his lack of maturity. We know the news transgressions, but did you know he's flash his rather large package at people at work? Or that he ordered 150 shots for the 9 the people he was with the night where the sorority slut wearing a DTF t-shirt accused him of rape? Sports Illustrated quoted Ben that night. Yeah I like to F girls. Or how about being stupid enough to ride a motorcycle without a helmet? He's lucky to be alive. He wasn't a popular team mate and was called out for it at times. Yes-- he's a better man now. Took him a while. Being married with children probably saved him.

As for how he'll be after football when he doesn't have to work out, give it a guess. Picture Ben after 5 off seasons of no football. As for being an alcoholic and addicted to porn, these are things he'll have to battle with for the rest of his life. These temptations do not go away. I hope he does stay on track, but I think it's very plausible he won't. Most people with addictions fall down and backward. Very few are clean forever.

It is a case by case basis. Just as equal chance that with wife and kids he is focused in on that and will stay the course.

First off, YOU don't know BEN on a personal level. As much as you try, you don't. You can in no way ascertain BEN's level of maturism

How do you I know he "flashed" at people at work, was it after practice in the shower or was it actually in the front office of the STEELERS facility? Can you show some sort of proof or a quote from someone?

Maybe someone can chime in here as the the validity of the 150 shots comment, NEVER once had I hear or read that number? I also refer back to "was there ever charges laid against him?". If that number is correct ( I have my suspicions ) what part of that was illeagal?

The DTF girl changed her accusations multiple times. Would not testify and acted more on her sorority sister's pursuance of BEN than her own, she knew she was making stuff up but peer pressure have a big play in it.

As for addictions, are you an addict? What experience do you have first hand at how someone will handle their addiction. I'm NOT talking about generalities but VERY SPECIFIC incidences of your experience. Can an addict lapse, hell yea and it could be any minute of any day but they can also conquer their addictions for 0-infinity of time. I know several addicts, drunks / smoke (s) / drugs / others but NEVER guesstimate their failure and ALWAYS congratulate their success even if for just one day sober.

So you see Coach, you don't know BEN ROETHLISBERGER on a personal level and never will. He may fall and yet he may stand but either way you will NOT be a part of either. Your prediction is asscinine to the point of hoping failure so as you to be right.

As for my prediction for BEN 5 years out it would be that he has the ULTIMATE best "grizzly Adams" beard known to mankind and everything else turns to hope and prayer that he is sober and conquered his deman with a productive satisfying life that one hopes to live daily.

None of us know Ben. We know about the public man but what he does in his life us none of our business and all we can do us project what he might be lime day in and day out. Coach you look incredibly stupid in this thread.

If I had millions of dollars in the bank and women throwing themselves at me when I was 25 I would have done much of the same.

Coach you look incredibly stupid in this thread.

Yeah, talk about arrogance and ignorance. Ben was speaking candidly at a place where people try to share/articulate their faith and what they've done (and not done) in their lives to help shape that faith, and I'm pretty certain that Ben admitting a past addiction to pornography is not his way of getting on the good side of Hall of Fame voters.

Good Lord man, seriously think this one over again.

And under a microscope no less. Not condoning Ben's behavior, but I certainly understand that he was a young guy who had lost his way a bit, but is wise and humble in his older age seemingly because of it. I appreciated the fact that he credited his wife Ashley to his turnaround. Not many people say that outwardly, and it's pretty damn cool that it was his wife that helped him find his right path. That's a true partner IMO. Coach, you saying that they'll be divorced within a certain amount of years is pretty damn ignorant and foolish.

Just an aside on Ben, and I know he's only given us little snapshots of their friendship, but I think befriending the Jim Kelly family and the bond they seem to have (with all of the adversity that family has had to go through) has been a blessing for Ben. You don't name your own child after another's unless you have incredible respect and deference for that person/family.

Jim Kelly, a Pittsburgh boy, is practically a saint in my opinion. God bless that man and what he's gone through in his life.

Reading between the lines he's doing this to help his hall of fame chances...

Testifying at a Chrisitian Fellowship to increase his HOF chances? I've never once blasted you here Coach...Today I will.

This is your worst evaluation ever. The man spoke from the heart at a Christian Fellowship, & you say his motive was to get HOF votes? I wish you would look the man in the eye and say that to his face...I'd like to see that conversation...

Terrible post Coach

Back in the early years Ben lived on the same street as sports radio host Mark Madden and MM would allude to the fact that there was always a party at Ben's house. Also some of us may remember that a number of bars in Pittsburgh told Ben not to come back.

SteveA, I defended Coach for quite sometime. I did and still do like some of his content (growing smaller and smaller) but over the years have seen his way. He just doesn't get it. I blast him occasionally but full well know it doesn't matter with him. He is what he is and we all bear witness to it.

ONE day I hope he has the maturity and humble to become the best he can be as a human and NOT a predictor.

MeanJoeBradshaw use to be a comical poster here and then disappeared until now. Glad he could find a T'ainted article or two to continue his prowless. He made his short lived fame from knocking a guy out who stole his samich at work. O course all this was probably made up and he was extending his 3.2minutes of fame back then. He chose a hotter topic this time around.

Good luck MeanJoeBradshaw and did that baby you had with your sister turn out to be a boy ?
