What is his status in the eyes of Führer Roger Goodel?

Last time I checked Bell was arrested and facing a possession of marijuana charge and a possible DUI-marijuana charge. There may have been a a woman escort in the car. Will Goodell suspend Bell in 2015?

I think he plea bargained and is clear with the law for first time offender. Not sure what the NFL will do though.

Escort as in prostitute? First I heard that!

I think if he clears / does all contingencies of the court, it won't even be on his record. Factor in the fact of him being a STEELERs, he'll probably miss the entire 2015 season.

Salute the nation

Just because Blount has dreads doesn't make him a female escort

Doubtful... he'll plead down the charges, serve no time, and at worst faces the NFL substance abuse policy, which was changed in 2014 to treat marijuana use less aggressively than other drugs. Assuming he was already put into Stage 1 of the substance abuse program based on the arrest, that subjects him to a 90-day probationary period, during which, if he tests positive again he gets a 3-week suspension and advanced to Stage 2 of the program. That 90 day period has almost certainly lapsed by now since his offense was at the beginning of the season, and he wasn't suspended for three weeks at any point, so he ostensibly tested clean.

This article gives a pretty good overview of the NFL policy:

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2014/09/13/nfl-new-drug-policy-three-things/15571205/

Stage 1: players are under scrutiny for 90 days.
Stage 2: players are under scrutiny for minimum of one year
Stage 3: players are under scrutiny for minimum of two years

Most likely he's already dropped out of Stage 1 and wouldn't advance to Stage 2 even if he failed the annual piss test in the 2015 training camp.

as per the rigorous high standards set at SN, we need to see a bikini pic of said female prior to judging her innocence or guilt.

though if she can fit into the back of a camaro, then she's likely innocent.

I believe it will be a one-game suspension

Based on previous cases it would be a one game suspension. Of course with Bell being a Steeler, Rog might wait to see how the season is going and suspend him for four games if it looks like they'll make the playoffs.

innocent, imo, and no suspension

A 2 game suspension keeps popping up when I read articles from Steelers beat writers, not sure where they're getting their information from though, or if it's just worst case scenario speculation.

She was along for the ride and doing drugs. They had 20 grams of weed. The woman was not identified as a girlfriend according to the police. It will be tough to prove if she was an escort or just a friend.

I believe she was just one of those "jock groupies" known as "video vixens" (aka women who dance in rap videos). A quick google of her name shows her as a model out of Los Angeles. So no, Bell isn't out there hiring hookers and ******. Just screwing groupies like Terry and the boys used to.

New policy - worst case is more than 2

"A spokesman for the NFL acknowledged that a DUI, whether it's from alcohol or marijuana, is subject to the following:

"The commissioner will review and may impose a fine, suspension or other appropriate discipline if a player is convicted of or admits to a violation of the law (including within the context of a diversionary program, deferred adjudication, disposition of supervision or similar arrangement including but not limited to nolo contendere) relating to the use of alcohol" and, he subsequently clarified, marijuana.

The league's new drug policy carries a two-game suspension upon a conviction or plea agreement for a DUI. The league wanted to be able to discipline a player immediately upon his arrest for DUI, but the NFL Players Association would not agree to that."

Commissioner has discretion over enhanced DUI bans

Though a two-game suspension without pay is the new standard for a first offense related to alcohol and operating a vehicle, the commissioner can impose increased discipline under "aggravating circumstances."

To paraphrase Lebron ... "not once, not twice, not three times, not four, etc. etc. etc." ... but I probably couldn't afford her weed habit. lol

When it first happened, I kept hearing a 3 game suspension. Now, I keep hearing 2. And, it will probably be at the beginning of he season.
