Bell

DeAngelo was pretty good yesterday. I do think his running style caught the Pats off guard, as they studied Bell all week. He even caught some passes out of the backfield. The problem was, we were behind the whole game and relied on the passing game to get down the field and for the most part, we did a good job. I don't know how long DA has, but we need a solid 1-2 punch if we don't retain him. I love Bell, but for whatever reason, he is injury prone.

Yeah, you don't want to run a guy into the ground but were you saying that the past two weeks when Lev was breaking record after record. During the regular season, sure. Playoffs, keep Bell on the field at all costs.
I was saying it.

They've been relying on Bell WAY too much. To the exclusion of Brown. In the Superbowl against the Cards, Arizona used Fitz as a decoy for the first 3 quarters, it didn't work. Finally they realized they HAD to go to Fitz to win the game even though they knew the Steelers were focused on stopping him. What did Fitz do? He damn near gave him the game.

Brown has to be the same guy. They HAVE to depend on him to beat coverage and make plays and Haley HAS to design plays to keep him in the game ALL the time. They go away from Brown and then expect Ben and Brown to suddenly turn it on at the drop of hat when **** goes south. Well it doesn't work like that. You need balance and this team hasn't had that since they fell in ******* love with Leveon Bell.

Who's great, by the way. He's an amazing back. But there's a **** ton of OTHER guys out there too. Remember them?

Yall wanna treat these men like precious fragile china collection items.

When we were in KC last week in the red zone. some bitched because "you have an all pro back, you RUN him...run him til they stop him"

Now, its "they ran him too much.....they wore him down". Make up your minds damn it....

If Ben had gotten hurt in the last three or four games it would be "I don't understand why they had him drop back so many times when they have Bell to carry the offense a little".

Like I said, this place digs and mines for something....ANYTHING.

Can you paint with any broader of a brush? Make certain you attribute what is said to the right people before assuming your hyperbole fits everyone.

Bell averaged almost 30 touches per game, I don't care how good or conditioned he is, that's a lost of hits and wear and tear, it's not like we have Kordell Stewart and Charles Johnson on offense.

He was averaging nearly 6 yds per carry.....What else would you do when Ben was obviously not playing his best and was recovering from injury ? In that 4 game losing streak, he cracked the 20 tote mark ONCE...we abandoned the run and suffered....once we went back to running we never lost. Over the season he avg'd about 20 carries per game. Interestingly enough the same as Zeke Elliot who split time with Alfred Morris in Dallas.

Very frustrating. Amazing player. He is very close to MVP material. But two drug issues and the last three seasons have ended with him on the bench. I mean I know it isn't his fault, but ****. I don't know what to say. What do you do with him?

Bell literally carried this team for the past two months and there is a question of what to do with him. Come on!

Bell is the Steelers best offensive weopon. Gotta retain him

would love to see an off set I. Him and D in backfield. Send either out for a pass, or run one of them.

Haley is not nearly smart enough to come up with such a novel concept.

Bell was definitely injured during the week, it explains him missing practice and explains Toussant getting a helmet. I just hope the league doesn't dig into that and find out that Steelers didn't give notice of the injury or we could be losing a 2nd round pick like the Seahawks might be doing.

NOT going to happen. He started and played. GOT hurt on his second play and continued to play. NO DRAFT PICKS WILL BE LOST. Just letting you know.

Wrong buckerooo I wanted Bell spelled quite often to keep him fresh. Who would run the poor kid that much and NOT expect something to happen???? Again piss poor game plan in using Bell as your only weapon. How many times was AB sent in motion, I mean true motion then up field??? Think about it, they left him stationary and he was getting ******* raped. Lets run Bell.

He's getting tagged.

What happens after that I don't know. This **** with Brown over the last couple of weeks has left a bad taste in my mouth. I wonder how committed this franchise is to Brown and that type of behavior. A co-worker of mine says that the last game Brown is going to play in Pittsburgh. We might get a pretty decent draft pick for him. How about Dallas? Dallas is drastically underpaying for their QB And RB. They can get out of Romo's contract. They have the O-line pretty much locked up. Could you imagine Dallas with Bryant AND Brown? That might be too good a prospect for someone like Jerry Jones to pass up. Especially after watching high power offense like Green Bay and Atlanta get to the NFCCG. You might convince Jones he has to "keep up with the Jones'" (pun intended) of Green Bay and Atlanta. I bet they can afford it in their cap.

We get like another pick in the high 20's to help on defense. Sign Bell long-term to a win-win contract. Pick up a mid-level WR free agent to pair with Bryant and Bryant comes back and becomes our legit #1 WR.

It could work. And maybe we find a superstar in this year's draft on defense. A real difference maker....

You pay the man, that's what you do.

We need to use him better and smarter and not at the expense of the passing game, our offense and running game needs to go through the passing game, we are a better O and scoring offense when the passing game is working, more so than the running game

You want to give up Brown for a high 20s pick? Just how long have you been playing Madden then?

Williams, when replaced Bell did nearly as well. The sad thing was Bell was playing his best ball every prior to last Sunday.

But you're right. Injured when we need him the most, and with past suspensions.

Two words. Franchise Tag. 1-year deal. Bell who has not made much money in NFL terms, can;t sit out. Prove you can stay clean and healthy again, then get a new deal with as much or even more cap space.

Given what we have behind Brown and Bell I think the last game may have caused serious mental harm to some.
