This is huge. They play the ravens week 4 on a Thursday. If it stayed a 3 game suspension, I'm not sure Bell would be ready to play vs the ravens. He would have had like 1 practice.

This changes all that. Now you can ease Bell back in week 3 and have a full week before facing the Ravens.

There are some guys that I would worry about in term of the lack of preparation. Bell is not one of them.

I'm thinking more of the physical preparation of being ready for contact. I have no doubt he's in great shape. But we always hear about game shape and that comes from getting hit.

How many hits will Bell take in preseason? The last preseason game is Thurs Sept 3. Regular season 3 is Sun Sept 27. Bell would not be able to rejoin the team until the next day. That's a short week for the Thursday game Oct 1 vs the ravens so likely no contact in practice.

That would have meant Bell went a whole month without contact and then gets thrown into a division rivalry game. I think they would have had to limit his touches in that situation.

Now they can ease him back in week 3 and he should be good to go for the Ravens in week 4.

I was sitting in the Moose when I watched the Brady suspension announcement with my bartendress, who is a huge Pats fan... and she's in my fantasy league!

Now if we can get just two quality starts from DeAngelo Williams life will really be good. Expected Bell to get reduce to 2 games, no surprise there.I'm hearing good things about Josh Harris from someone who knows him personally downhere in NC. Said he worked hard this off season getting ready for camp.
