Bell suspended

At least this crap happened to Bryant and Bell Before their Second contract with the team. Both have just shown that they cant be trusted to be important parts of an offense and so their future contracts will reflect

Jim Wexel wrote an article that questioned the stupidity of Tomlin letting 2 well known rappers into the Steeler locker room last year. The culture Tomlin allows is a spinoff on this type of behavior and yes he does bare some responsibility for this mess. He sets the tone ad it is always lax and cool.
Didn't savran say at the end of regular season it's the most immature team he's been around ? Makes sense being run by a clown

Now wait a minute. What do some of you expect?

Every year I read on here from the draft guys how it is a good idea to take juniors. Can't remember all the reasons, but there seems to be a consensus that it is good to take juniors. I stay out of it because I am not much of a draft guy, but as I'm reading it I'm going, "Ehhh," thinking are we sure this is a good idea? You are taking kids as it is, but when you take the really young ones you are going to get some of this.

On the soapbox.

Maybe it's time the fans stopped supporting the bullshit going on in college and professional sports. It's even going on in high schools now. This whole country needs to re-examine priorities and stop elevating athletes to god status. The same rules should apply to everyone.

Off the soapbox.

It all started when he did away with the ping pong...

Again....Tomlin is responsible for setting the tone in the locker room and this has become a team problem during Tomlin's tenure. Go back to when Bell and Blount were pulled over and they were allowed to participate in the preseason game as it seemed like Tomlins answer was to continue with business as usual. Then you open up the locker room to celebrities that you know are a bad influence. Ultimately Tomlin can't control people's individual actions but there is a point where he deserves some of the blame. Not time to raise the white flag but this certainly doesn't help the teams efforts to get another championship out of the last few precious years we have left with Ben. If the team can't capitalize then I don't see how you don't come to the conclusion that the Steelers wasted the 2nd half of Ben's career

Still laughing at those bashing Tomlin. Bell is the ******* here (along with Bryant). The drug addict apparently missed multiple drug tests. Tomlin can't baby sit the players. They are adults are make their own decisions. And, they and they alone are responsible for those decisions and their consequences.

Next up we'll hear from those that say pot isn't addicting. Well, Bell and Bryant are obviously addicted. Neither of them can stay off the stuff even when they know when they are going to be tested.

Can you link the article you're referring to thanks

He can't keep them from smoking but he has kept them from throwing chairs at each other in the locker room.

You have to pay for it at Wexel's site

I'm a member on his site. Didn't see it was wondering if you could help me out. You could PM it

Bell Reportedly Missed a Test as Far Back as the NFL Combine

You might not like Mark Madden but you have to give credit where credit is due and it’s due to Mr. Madden. He said on his radio show earlier this summer that Le’Veon Bell may have failed or missed or a drug test. Bell refuted it on social media and since no one within the team or league said anything at the time it died.

Fast forward to just minutes ago when ESPN announced that Bell was indeed facing a four-game suspension for a failed/missed drug test and it would seem that someone was telling the truth and someone wasn’t. Here’s Bell’s last tweet by the way.

https://twitter.com/L_Bell26/status/756130996634980352

A source close to the situation told me two things this morning. One, Bell was allegedly on vacation and refused to come back to take the test and Two, this was around the time of the NFL Combine. If you see the forest through the trees, this may have been around the same that Martavis Bryant likely would have missed or failed his test. He was suspended on March 14th which was just a few weeks after the Combine.

Many people, including other sites similar to this one, slammed Madden calling his allegation “a bunch of ****” I’m told. My how time can change things huh? Wonder if an apology is forthcoming…

Now of course the discussion will turn to whether or not he can get the suspension lowered to two games but I don’t think it’s going to happen. Bell should have taken his own advice from the tweet above and remembered that this is the ultimate team game.

His selfishness has dealt a severe blow to the goals of this team for the 2016 season. Furthermore, he has killed his own chances of getting a major pay day either from the Steelers or through free agency.

As a fan, I can’t tell you how much this pisses me off. I really hope this isn’t true but I’ve been around the block too many times to really honestly consider that as possible. Hope it was worth it Le’Veon.

What's in the water in da burrrrrrrrgh?
Jung ho (yup) Kang Bryant. Now lev "smoke smile" bell. Hey coach. Hide your stash.

Bell missed several drug tests

Does this mean the suspension will be longer?

And if he can't test clean after the suspension is over, he's pretty much gone for the season.

What was Bell's wonderlick score? This is the same point at which we cut ties with Santonio Holmes, what has changed?

Bell is on the same path that Martavis Bryant has already taken...

I think the first one is a free one you missed it because of forgetting, trying to reschedule etc. More than one and then the suspension hands down as they probably consider it at that point, no excuses.

Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell claimed last month that he never missed a drug test. He reportedly missed more than one.

Ian Rapoport reported on NFL Network that Bell missed “several” drug tests.

Bell was already in the NFL’s substance-abuse program and was suspended for the first two games of last season in connection with a 2014 arrest for marijuana possession and DUI. Players who have never violated the policy are generally only tested for drugs of abuse once a year, but players who are already in the policy, like Bell, are subject to many tests.

Bell is appealing the suspension, but realistically, it’s hard to see why he would win an appeal: The NFL’s drug-testing policy makes clear that players are required to make themselves available to drug testing, and a player who misses several tests has clearly violated the policy. Missing one test could be a miscommunication. Missing several tests is a lot harder to explain away.

^^^ Byrant was suspended for the season for missing several drug tests. I don't know how many tests Bell missed. My question is are we talking four games or more?
