Bell gets Three games

It's not about stoping because your going to be in a program or the window of being tested. It's about getting busted and saying ****, I just ****** up and need to stop.

So, I get busted for dui and after continue to drink and drive until they put a breath test machine in my ride. Is that right or wrong? My point is he got busted knew it was going to **** him from a NFL standpoint and a money in pocket (maybe) standpoint but continued to do it "until" they are going to test him for it. Stupid.

Call it a pattern of behavior I just don't care for. Again this is coming from a pot person.

Again yes If you drank N drove yes that would of been different..but if you drank and didn't drive it would of been ok right ? What's the difference if continued to smoke but didn't drive. If he continued to smoke in the privacy of his home or someoe else's thats his choice.**** the first thing someone says about a ballplayer drinking and driving is get a driver not stop drinking. All that money get a driver.Really not seeing the problem here.. Yes continue if you choose because the CBA the players and owners voted in allows it.

I see the continued angle you are throwing out, and you smoked so I can see why you feel this way.

But every time Bell smokes up or a person drink and drives, it puts their job in jeopardy. Illegal activities ALWAYS at any moment have the potential to hurt him and the team..

SO maybe yinz job won't can you. We do know the results when you smoke in the NFL.

So we can not belittle his usage. He needs to lay off it and smoke after he retires.

And anything before that is a big deal because he is jeopardizing everything that was mentioned in this debate.

Until it is legal AND not against team and NFL rules it will remain a big deal.

To many excuses for Bell, passed or not he is stupid. He has learned zero by last year. Bell better have one heck of a season or would anyone be surprised if the Steelers let him go. With Bryant another problem child how many do you keep on team.

If he comes out of suspension and manages to rack up 2100 yrds of total offense, 17 TDs in 13 games, and performs at a league MVP level this will put us on the line to put up (money) or let him walk. Weed or no weed, with numbers like that someone is gonna pay this man far more than we would be willing. RBs are replaceable but Bell is a special talent and a dual threat and he can pick up a blitz as well as any back in this league...he takes so much pressure off of Ben with his skillset and he compliments everything we do very well.. You don't just let a talent like that walk without offering him something very very fair

This is the point I'm trying to make. Bell was caught smoking and driving in Aug 2014. That arrest didn't put him into the NFL drug program until the next year. So since the NFL does not test during the season Bell could technically continue to smoke if he chose. Obviously he chose to because he stated he did. His court case was not resolved yet so he wasn't on probation yet either. So he smoked. That I do not care about. Why because he was in no more danger then anyone else. He wasn't putting his team or job in jeopardy. Now once the season ended all players are subject to testing. So he stopped. Just like all the other weed users in the NFL. He used up until he couldn't. Going by the rules in place. The rules voted in by the owners and players. So no I don't care about him continuing to smoke up until Dec 2014. The NFL didn't the Steelers didn't. NFLPA didn't. Other wise they wouldn't of set it up that way.

Now once he entered the program and is subject to random tests all year around would I care how AFFECTS THE STEELERS and out ability to win a super bowl. I do care about that.. and I've already called him a idiot for not taking the tests. Especially when Alot of evidence points to he hasn't smoked since Dec 2014. He was able to get off probation, he was able to get the suspension cut and stay at the same stage. All that points to him not smoking and just being a Dumbass for missing tests. All this could of been avoided if he been more responsible..

But lastly like I said I stopped worrying about or caring about what guys do off the field. They are human they **** up. And I have enough issues on my own life to add worrying about what some rich guy is going thru or better yet putting himself thru. If he don't care about his career why should I. Yes it sucks for the Steelers missing their talent but you move on and try to win with what you got.

he had to purchase the illegal drugs or not?

not sure how that isn't putting his team in jeopardy

How do you know he purchased them?? Like I said earlier I'm not debating the illegal aspect of weed..

Is don't care if he's a good RB or not, he's a moron. He can't help the team if he can't stay on the damn field!

Stay clean and make your damn tests. Period.

15 million a year? No thanks.

Time to draft the kid from Standford

I am looking forward to watching McCaffrey this season. Exciting player.

he gets his supply free?

that's quite the drug connection

I think Antdrew is saying he has a middleman to shield Bell.

I think Antdrew is saying he has a middleman to shield Bell.

Ahhh the middleman theory.

Bell isn't smart enough to make sure the NFL has a legit phone number...isn't smart enough to not get behind a wheel Cheech and Chong-ing it, I can't assume he is smart enough to have a middleman.

Joe Pa rolled slightly to the left

You guys have it ALL wrong, like cheech - n - chong,.............he GROWs his own. Wonder if the brain surgeon could handle that or not???

Salute the nation

Him smoking in December of last year I don't have a problem with..why because under the CBA voted in by the players and owners he was allowed to smoke. There is no testing done during that time for players not in the drug program. Bell didn't enter that until the next year.

You keep on saying it's A-OK that Bell was smoking weed, because the NFL "allows" it, which is a ridiculous argument to begin with. Just because they aren't testing for marijuana use during a certain time frame certainly does not therefore indicate that they condone or even permit the activity. The NFLPA negotiated that window into the bargaining agreement because it knows how prolific and widespread a problem it would be for its players to remain clean year-round. Many more stars like Bell would be missing all kinds of action, and that's not good business for anybody. That's why the CBA was "set up that way."

But you know who doesn't allow pot use? Bell's state of residence, Pennsylvania. They don't "allow" it in the comfort of your own home, or when you're operating a motor vehicle, or when you're taking a ****. IT IS ILLEGAL IN THIS STATE. So even if your earlier inaccurate stance held any water, and Bell had the well-wishes of all the league's owners and players (including his own team -- btw, how do you know that the Steelers "didn't care" either?), in December 2014, HE STILL WAS BREAKING THE LAW.

And, on top of it, he was stupid enough to admit it...this guy's agent must be going nuts.

burning trees = child molesting?

did I ******* read that?

LOL...Yeah you got that right. The point was antdrew stated he didn't care what laws a player broke as long as it didn't affect his life, So yes I took the example to an extreme. I really didn't think that would float over so many heads here.

Don't excuse the owners from this. They allowed it. They could of very well took a harder stance also..they do when it comes to guaranteed contracts. The NFL decided their business was more important. And I never said it's A-OK I said I don't care. If Bell gets caught how does it affect my life? It doesn't. That's his life he ******* up. Not mine. Because if they truly cared they would of take a harsher stand against weed. They chose money over weed just like the other owners. How can you choose a stronger stance against other drugs but it's OK for weed but you want me to care.

And again for the thousandth time I am not debating the states law. Never once said I was. I'm supposed to lose sleep cause Bell decided to use drugs. This has been my stance since Ben was in a accident. I'm not going to lose anymore sleep based off guys off the field incidents..I invest enough emotion into the Steelers on Sundays. I'm not worrying about **** I can't control.

It went over people heads cause it way was too extreme and stupid

It's quite simple to deduce that he didn't smoke because his suspension wouldn't of been reduced. He still had to take other tests which he has passed. He also was able to get off probation for the DWI which includes passing tests

That's what i thought too. He missed the NFL drug tests for whatever reason but passed the drug tests required by his probation. Frankly I'm surprised Rog reduced it at all.

In other related news Bell said the last time he smoked was December 2015. By saying this he admits he violated the nfl drug policy while active last season. What a dumb statement for him to make. Presumably he smoked in September, October and November too.

Unless Bell get some real help, keeps his mouth shut and values football and money over the drugs, he's risking getting caught again.

LOL. You are as bad as POP and Coach but at the opposite end of the spectrum.
