Bell Drug Tested Twice in 24 Hours

Also if Bell fails the test, it's a 4 week suspension.

Are you sure Cope as I thought it would be 8 this time around. I remember he was let off on a no-show positive due to him / nfl not having his correct phone number. I'm pretty sure he served a 4 game suspension on drug related but maybe that was the arrest and not a failed test. Thoughts

Fairly certain part of the litigation or appeal for his previous suspension was to make sure he didn't get the 1 year death penalty for the next positive test. That's why its 4 games for his next positive test. Glad we don't have to worry about that any longer

I thought he already had 2 4 game suspensions and the next one was 8, but i could be mistaken

Doesn't matter to us now but if he gets popped again that pretty much verifies what some of us were saying was the reason for the holdout.

Would have pissed hot.

I think he held out because he saw Gurley's contract and wanted the same money. He wasn't getting anywhere near Gurley money

Couldn't it affect our comp pick?

The first one was a 4 game due to a MaryJane arrest and then dropped down to a 3 game SUSPENTION (detriment to player conduct). The second one was for a failure to show up for test and Commish said no-show positive 4-game SUSPENTION. Player's assoc. fought it because Bell gave them (NFL) his new phone number but they kept trying to contact him on his old, negotiated a 3-game but not a positive drug test. I think I've got this right !

His second failed test was actually a missed test. As Drink stated, NFL drug testers attempted to test Bell with the wrong contact information. As an agreement, he was suspended (but reduced to 2 games?) for missing a test, but the suspension would not count as a strike in the substance abuse program. His next offense would be strike two and would result in a 4 game suspension.
