The trend of only scoring 17 points? You want to blame the D for the loss, when the O put up 17 points?
Here is some questions. 1) Mr. Head Coach Michael Vincent Lombardi Tomlin, why did you call a play to allow a blocked FG to be run back, almost, to a score? 2) why would a TE be so disrespectful of your leadership and discipline along with an incredible distraction, to never give up on that play and save a TD. 3) when you called the play to have Ben overthrow your tallest WR, twice, did you get the outcome you were expecting? Will you call that same play next week?
Ad nauseum. D gets shortfielded 2 or 3 times, while the offensive unit puts up 17. **** you D.
I said it another thread. In today's NFL, if you only score 17 points, you deserve to lose.
Yeah the O-line didn't do him no favors. And perhaps if given a chance he would have added a TD in overtime.
Don't put too much stock in 17 points, holding them to 16 points would have won the game. And that is what matters winning.
The head coach gets the blame when teams don't win. The way it has always been.
I don't think anyone outside of Ben and Antonio and maybe the pass coverage...did the team any favors today. I do think Ben did enough for a win, his supporting cast failed him. Just like the mentioned D. And ultimately coaching.
The trend I was referring to as playing down and losing to bottom feeders.
