Backup Quarterback

I'd take Dalton in a heartbeat. The Bengals reached the playoffs 5 times with him at qb. You're not going to get a stud, so getting a Neil O'Donnell level qb would be no problem. Rudolph just didn't show enough for me to be willing to bet a season on him at this point.
 
We may get to see what Lynch can do. If Duck was bad enuff against the Jets to get pulled, probably do the same this weekend.

No matter who sticks around, or who gets drafted, or signed in the off season, this team needs a QB coach (and an OC, and an OL coach and a receivers coach).
 
Bortles ******* stinks. Jeezus h Christ on a rubber crutch what the hell are some of you thinking? Bortles in no way shape or form could come close to ever being confused as a Ben clone.

They bring Bortles here I’m done. They won’t be that stupid. As for Andy Dalton, how in the hell do you plan to pay him? And to be a backup at that? Come on guys be serious.? Andy is not coming here. More realistically if they bring in a vet it has to be someone like Case Keenum or Ryan Fitzpatrick if available.

Fitzpatrick will be a starter for some team next year. If Ben is back, it'll be Rudolph and some other minimum salary player. They aren't going to eat up cap space on a high end backup, IMO.
 
Mariota on a 1 year 5 mill prove it deal if not Dalton
 
Mariotta has nothing to prove other than he sucks. he's ****. not even for vet minimum.

Tannehill will be available in the off-season. he signed a one-year deal after being traded by Miami. Titans also have to pay Derrick Henry.
 
So here’s a question for you guys. From what I’ve read and that’s all I have to go on here, it does not seem like Paxton Lynch got much of a chance in Denver.
Do any of you think the Broncos gave up on him too soon or is he just not capable of being an NFL starter?

Don't know, don't recall watching him play. I believe he sat out a year and was with SEA in preseason before getting cut.
IIRC he had a strong arm and decent legs so I assume the game got too big for him or he doesn't have it above the neck and things of that nature.

I thought it was a little too quick to give up on the kid, but they don't call it Not For Long for no reason. I would like to see if he has anything...........
 
tannahill will want a raise after how he has played so I look at Dalton or maariota both 2-3 mill per year with incentive bonus.

Yea, and it would be another thing if he could actually come up with a game plan and flow ability while executing it.

it's obvious they need to get Case Keenum as a back up to Ben until they can find their QB of the future
