Ayers Injury

I think he dresses for a few or 2 before he is cut , I think the pats signed him because aside to pick the playbook b/c Malcolm Mitchell is hurt

Maybe this was the Steelers plan all along. Make everyone think Ayres is mad so the Pats pick him up. Now he can share the playbook with us when we sign him to our roster!!

Genius Tombert!!!!

Something tells me Coolie will be keeping tabs on New England, rooting for Ayers to do well, even though they are public enemy #1 in the AFC for any real Steeler fan.

Personally, I hope he fumbles and cost New England a game, making it easier for us to obtain home field in the playoffs if we meet them.

Says the guy who for a whole season **** on Davis and his play hoping he would fail. Twisting every fact into his favor showing how Davis was failing. Week in and week out this went on for...but now you are pointing a finger at Coolie on Ayers. Go figure.

I only said he should start over Jones to see what he have. Some felt to defend Jarvis Jones tooth and nail, and possibly to defend Tomlin for starting him when he was a real zero in many areas and did not play special teams kick coverage because he was too slow.

I never said anything beyond that or indicated greatness and in case your forgot, I was mocking TJ Watt for round one months before we picked him!

If I thought Chick was all that, why would I want to spend a first round pick there?

No comment regarding last years team ROY though? Thump your chest on obvious claims, but won't admit fault to your wrong opinion.

You are 100% incorrect. As I stated, he is dead to me....the patsies drafted a UH LB in the 7th round last season....he played quite a bit for them but the ****** is also dead to me....

much like WJIII in cincy and Bowser in baltiwhore

Is he dead to you? Might I recommend you update your avatar? Once that happens, which I predict will be soon :) there will be no questions.

I think SF81 gave me that avatar....I don't usually notice them...

That did not take long, but it doesn't count as a real prediction :)

I'd say the change is an upgrade.

Just saw an article about Pats practice squad. The minimum salary for a practice squad guy is $122,400. The Pats are paying five of their ten guys above that. Ayers being one at $170,000.

The Pats actually have a guy on their practice squad DE Geno Grissom that they're paying what he would earn on the active roster. $615,000 supposedly to stop him from signing with another teams active roster. Clever ********

I wonder if that's against the CBA? If it isn't, then it is clever. Classic Patriots - anything to gain an advantage.

AND yet the salary CAP doesn't seem to be a problem.................... **** the CHEATRIOTS !!!!!!!!!!!!

Salute the nation

The Pats really don't gain an advantage here. All amounts paid to PS players count against the cap:

Teams can pay practice squad players as much as they’d like. They’re not limited to that minimum, and practice squad salaries do count toward the cap. The Rams, in fact, paid tackle Isaiah Battle a whopping $25,888 per week. Most teams tend to pay salaries closer to the minimum, though.

Also, from my research, Practice Squad players don't have a choice. Other teams can poach a player at any time, if they are adding that player to their roster, and aren't playing that team that week.

Another positive, is if the Steelers were to sign Ayres, then try to put him on the PS, Ayres would go through waivers, giving the Steelers an earlier waiver claim to sign Ayres.

On a receiver starved team he gets cut from their PS hmmmm must have soaked in all the Steelers playbook. And now are done with him.

Ayres is a better receiver than Tucker, but with the way he told the Steelers he wouldn't be PSed, might be the political move to keep him off of this PS.
